Is anyone else having this issue - on the link home screen it says my new classic is connected, when I attempt to switch device, it says I'm not connected, and that I have an unrecognized device. I'm connected via wifi. I try to connect the selected device and I get denied. A little help, because I'm losing my patience....Classic won't connect to link-bb.jpg

I had a similar problem when I got my new Classic. Could connect via wifi but not USB. Go to 'Settings' 'USB' and make sure USB Mass Storage Mode is on and the others off. Not sure why this worked for me but it did, and Link connected right away.

Wiped it, still nothing, could it be the firewall?

Do what i did. While plugged in with Link opened. Go into Device Manager. Open Network Connections. You should see either 1 or 2 with exclamations on them indicating a problem. Right click on them and hit Uninstall. Then hit Scan for Hardware Changes on top of Device Manager.
Let it do its thing and report back.

    unplug phone replug..

I remember that message popped up on my phone too but I closed it instead of confirming. Mine also worked after the message went away though.

I experienced the same connection problem. As relatively annoying and tedious as it is, what finally worked for me was completely uninstalling Blackberry Link from my computer and then reinstalling it. I then did a full shut down of my computer, let it settle, turned it back on and commenced opening Blackberry Link and hooked up my Classic. After a few tries, it finally connected via USB and was able to back up my data/settings. Hope that helps.

I tried it on my computer at home as opposed to my computer at work, turned both the Z10 and the Classic to airplane mode, and ran Link, transferred without a hitch.

Turn on USB Storage on your Classic, restart your computer and then plug in your BlackBerry. It will then install the driver, once the installation is complete, launch Link.
