The Classic is coming soon! So anxious for it. Being an Android user for most of my time using a smartphone, I wanted to try something new. My family is on the move to switch to T-Mobile.. My best option to get the newest phone would be the IPhone 6.. I'd rather have the CLASSIC when it is released though.. How much do you think it will be for an unlocked variant? 200? 300? 400? :/

$449 would be my guess. It has to be at least $150 cheaper than the Passport. Otherwise you might as well get the Passport because it will be better value for money

I expect that the Classic to get the Passport treatment in that Blackberry is going to knock $100 off at first. Retail Cost $499.99, with $100 off = $399.99

It looks like the classic is the direct replacement for the Blackberry Bold, as it appears there is going to be a non-camera option.

I expect a low price of $399 and a high price of $499.

Any more or less and I will be surprised.

As far as what people are willing to pay, more and more people are buying phones outright now than ever. So getting a good price is important.

I'm almost certain to buy one if it is $399. $499 and I am not so sure. My z10 is still working well but I want better battery and reception. I can get that with a z30 for about $350.

There was nothing wrong with the fire phone that I could see, but nothing right either. Nothing to set it apart really. Free amazon prime but that only amounts to a small bonus and most that would really be interested would already have prime.

The Z30 is way overpriced if it's selling for 499 when the Passport is 599. Remember, the Q5 is like 350 still. Stupid. If the classic is going to be sold for 499, I'll not be an early adopter.

Given the rumored specs and purpose of the Classic and current Chen strategy of broadening BlackBerry 10 market share, I guess Classic would range from $399 to $499

Ideally, I think if carriers were cooperating better with BlackBerry, there could be trade-ins of older BlackBerry phones on OS 7 for example, and maybe paying additional $100 to get the Classic. That kind of deal should tempt them... And it's a win win deal because if market share of BlackBerry 10 saw a significant improvement, we could finally see native apps of big names coming. The thing BlackBerry 10 misses above anything else

That would in no way help BlackBerry financially. BlackBerry certainly needs marketshare, but not by taking a loss on each device sold; they aren't in the same position as Google or Apple to be able to do this. This would only be possible for BlackBerry if the carriers absorbed the loss, and I can guarantee you that the carriers will never do that for BlackBerry.

BlackBerry just can't sell their devices close to or at cost; they need to make profits and because of their small marketshare need to make enough of a margin to sustain the handset division of the company.

Agreed. Microsoft can afford to flood the market with crap low-cost devices because they can leverage revenue from the Enterprise market and the billion dollars they make from Android to pay for it. BlackBerry can not.

That said, with the specs so far, the Classic, if released by any other company, would not be more than $299 unlocked.
