I LOVED my classic when I first got it. It had amazing battery life, and seemed to be running in top shape! Now, I lose 15% battery life in 2 hours only less than moderate use... Everyone kept saying "let the OS settle in", but it's been long enough... Anyone has a fix?? Thanks

I noticed shorter battery life when I first downed loaded the new OS. It seems to be back to normal now--took maybe 2 weeks or so.

Check yer apps that theya re not set to pull info otherwise it will drain yer device. Kimda stubled on this as well with BlackBerry s!

I checked them all. The issue here is with the "System". It drained 60% over 48 hours

Check things like wifi profiles and make sure you're not getting poor signal. If you had old wifi profiles, try deleting them all and then adding the ones you actually use. Heard this worked for some people experiencing the same thing.

Check your device storage isn't under a gig. If it is then you will have drastic lags and worse battery life. Also having too many apps can have an impact on performance and battery life.

Sorry, I'd like to typo but my Q10 doesn't support it.

I have seen an improvement over the already great battery life of the Classic. I am a business user so calls, text and email for me. I do research things with the browser and use navigation as well during a regular day. I dot use Twitter, FB, or any other social media. I have only installed airline and banking apps that are not native to BB10.

I am still sitting at 30-40% at 10pm after taking it off the charger at 5am. Quite frankly, I use the phone even more heavily now for things as I just can't seem to run through a full charge no matter what I do.

Typically handle 10-20 calls a day and several hours of total talk time.

It must be an app or something that needs to maybe be deleted and reloaded.

You might also notice if you run bluetooth persistently, leave it on or play media that way, your battery will also drain incredibly fast as well. You may also want to try reloading your software as sometimes when it loads/updates buggy it causes battery issues, WiFi connection and cellular service connection issues.

Jabras, I'm in the same position as you. I just checked my battery life over the last 48 hours and it's reported the System as using 56%, and I've barely done anything with this phone in those 48 hours!

No Android apps are installed, screen brightness is roughly 40%. I never leave apps minimised, always close them when I'm done, always connected to a decent Wifi connection to minimise cellular consumption. What am I doing wrong?

Then there is something working on the background.... maybe a security swipe and reload the OS.
You have the official OS or a leak?

Yep, same for me. I'm running OS10.3.1.1779 (the latest update hasn't reached the UK Blackberries).

I've since run through all my installed apps and switched off as much as possible in terms of background running and permissions. So just waiting to see what amount of difference that makes.

I last charged the phone to 100% on Saturday morning at 10:30. Didn't really touch the phone for the rest of the day; no calls, no Internet. It still pulls in mail from three accounts (all on different time frames, the most frequent account being hourly, the other every six hours & the third weekly).

No security apps running. It's now 10:50 Sunday morning and the phone is at 62% battery. With no connection to Wi-fi during this time. Only from cellular connection and I have four bars of connection.

Sitting for 24 hours ON and 60% remaining seems pretty reasonable to me even if you barely touch it. ON is ON and it's always doing something, it's not a TV Remote.

I am running on 10.3.2.2252 currently. The best OS for Classic so far. I have been switching between Passport and Classic. This leaked version is awesome.

I agree MrHeavyFoot. Since turning off the bits & bobs relating to the apps its made the biggest difference I've yet seen on this device. Now it is Sunday 7:10pm, I did a bit of browsing and the odd e-mail reply (letter length replies, not like a couple of short texts or tweets) and the phone is currently at 31%.

This is so much better than before. The only thing that annoys me is all the time I've spent nagging on this forum and complaining. In its default setup the phone really eats through its battery. The number of hoops and screens you have to not only access, but know where everything is and what you can and cannot switch off... its like the OS needs its own switchboard, and only then can you start having faith that your phone will get you through the day.

For all my ******** I still really, really like this phone, but my god it requires so much fiddling to make it run decently. More so than any other platform I've used (Bada, Windows Phone 8, iOS)

After reviewing how many apps run when minimized, I opened Settings/App Manager/Go To Applications Permission Screen and changed the settings and permissions of most. Do you really need all those apps running all the time?

The phone has now been running for 36 hours since the last charge & I still have 13% battery left. Whatever apps were running in the background previously made one hell of an impact on my battery life. So glad for reading this thread now, as the phone has gone from being the smartphone with the shortest battery life I've ever owned to the longest!

You can also secure wipe and start fresh after the new OS install.

I usually wipe and reset after any type of OS update for two reasons:

    1. To keep things clean and nice OS wise (I don't really care of the OS is good at keeping things orderly)

    2. By the time I have an update, I like to start afresh and see what apps I do/do not use so I can organize my phone better and be more efficient.
