Classic on last legs, Need Help!
Hi I'm new here. Have had my Classic since 2015, used primarily for email, text, calls & pix. Low app usage. It began having charging issues a week or so ago with constant drain, the battery icon and an occasional notification pop up detecting non blackberry cable (which I think is correct, unsure if it is an official BB one) I found the original package with an official BB USB cable that I've put in now -- but it may be too late. The screen is frozen all day displaying only the logo "Blackberry Classic" --- I cannot turn it on or off or get it to respond to anything. I tried Volume Up / Down + power. Tried plugging into desktop to trickle. Nothing. Tried various wall plugs which appeared to work yesterday with the other old cord, but not today, frozen all day today. It's plugged in with the official cable to a wall plug now...and I am waiting. No card.
The challenge is, I have next to ZERO skills or even verbiage with technology and would need to be hand-held or spoken to like a 6 yr old! What I really would like is if someone could refer me to a BB specialist in the Los Angeles area, if that exists, who might be able to minimally retrieve some data. (biggest concern = photos) I'm Apple on all other devices so the Classic is a stand-alone, and not backed up. (I know... I know...humor me )
I've read forum questions but haven't found any that apply to this specific issue. Hoping someone can find me a support person in LA? Willing to pay just to get photos - and maybe contacts and texts in a perfect world. Willing to recognize it's time for a new phone too.
Thx!!
