Hi, I have noticed that my BlackBerry classic is really slow. Not from beginning, but now after 2 months using it, the device is slow.

    For example:

Filemanager needs too long to open dropbox 5 - 10 seconds
Bbm when you want to add a picture needs 3-5 seconds
Whatsapp is totally slow. From the hub, when you open one conversation it needs 3-5 seconds

Classic goes slower and slower - latest OS-img_20150228_123341.png
Classic goes slower and slower - latest OS-img_20150228_123304.png

Maybe someone has the same issue. I think we have not so much RAM that the classic works smooth.
If this is the issue, I will replace my loved classic, with the passport

Mate the classic is slow in almost every task you give it. I've become accustomed to waiting now. I like the physical design of the phone but the OS is a mare.....in my opinion.

That's always a good idea to do, if it gets sluggish. Every BlackBerry User should know this little trick and do this at least once a month.

This is one of the reasons I left Blackberry 5 years ago. I'm considering coming back. But quotes like this make me cautious.

I have one signature touch, but it's not sluggish.

Also I think that the classic has a problem with the ram. The classic and this os needs more ram. And BlackBerry needs to optimize the os.

On the passport I don't have the problem. Also I had this problem not on the q10 or p9983 or p9982. Only on the classic with the latest update.

Now after the hard reset the device is again faster and all is smoother.

And maybe with the next update, this issue is solved.

I ran my Q10 for months on 10.3.1 series and never experienced slow or sluggish issues. Guess I figured that that experience would be similar for Classic owners.

My Q10 is also slow after update of 10.3.1, it hangs on file manager about 10 seconds.

    Dropbox : 10 -15 seconds.
    One drive: 10 seconds.
    Android apps : 20 seconds.
    Some apps : 5 - 6 seconds
    BlackBerry apps: 4-5 seconds

    See the photos down.

Same here, truly never experienced the type of performance issues as described by some users. Can't help but think that maybe something else is making their devices so sluggish.

For me, the biggest issue by far regarding Classic speed is when scrolling through calendar week view. Generally I am checking my availability while speaking to someone and waiting for the device to render...each...week...takes...too...long...

Also, when selecting individual time slots with trackpad in week view, the selector lags the trackpad input and essentially jumps around on the screen.

My calendar has entries dating back a few years, so that may be a factor. Also calendar is generally left as active frame.

If you have an SD card and there is a .dat file somewhere, somehow, or anything from Windows copied to that SD card, that is the start of it becoming slow as it were. In addition to the .dat file anywhere on the device, if you have a 'thumbs.db' file or a 'desktop.ini' file, that too, all three I've mentioned here will slow it down dramatically. When all else fails and you do not have any of those inside your device, the Wipe it out. I would recommend getting everything to the cloud but NOT doing a backup. This is unheard of I am sure, but since the machine is so new, hopefully you do not have tons of info on it. So, 1) Search for the three files above and delete them, 2) Do not backup your device, but use your desktop computer to move all your files or what's most important on to your desktop. Then bring everything back and do a fresh install of all your apps as associated with your BlackBerry ID.
