Classic Durability

One of the best looking features of the Classic is the metal band. Biggest thing I regret with the Q10 design.

I love the look of the 9900 and Classic as a result and prefer them to be naked without a case.

With the Classic having no removable battery, if the device is dropped some of that energy makes it into the device which could result in a smashed screen. It's my understanding that the Classic has Gorilla glass? If so how has everyone's Classic held up for wear and tear / drops?

Yes the classic has gorilla glass. Haven't dropped mine yet.

My Classic would have been long gone if it was naked. To heavy for no protection. Dropped 15+ times in 6 months

Mine is in the OEM soft shell case, and I dropped it face down the other day.

No scratches, no anything. Held up great.

The Q10 also has a metal band and, another shared feature of both devices, the bottom part of the frame is not metal but rather plastic. The Q10 even has a slight edge here: The plastic is native black, the Classic has black plastic which has been painted silver - paint that might wear off over time.

Besides the Classic at least feels more sturdy. So far I had no problems with either device.

Blackberries have always been tough. Add a case and screen protector and you're good to go.
