I just noticed my contacts on my Classic device are starting to duplicate. I had this issue on the Passport as well as the Z10. Any suggestions for fixing this? This is clearly a OS10 issue.

There is a switch in the classic that says link contact. Have you looked there?

In the contacts app, if you swipe down and go to settings, there is an option to merge duplicate contacts. Fixed most of mine. One or two contacts did not merge but it took care of the rest (I have approx 500 contacts)

i have several Twitter and 2 FaceBook accounts. I had to delete the FB app because no matter what I did it added the FB friends to my contact list (over 1k FB friends) and my contact list has only 50.
Edit: Contact setting was set to automatic merge.

I had to delete the FB contacts off by using multiple delete.

EDIT: Didn't know about the settings in contacts. Switched to manual merge. Was set on automatic.

I am using Outlook.com. I deleted my account and added it back. So far so good. However, I am sure in time they will start to duplicate again. That always seems to be the case. I will try the settings info some of you have provided. Thank you!

We are having a lot of issues with the sync of our Google Contacts with BB z10, or the 10 os : they are linked wrong, phone numbers are mixed between contacts, some contacts are duplicated and so on and so forth....

Is there anything we can do?

Try this !
To remove and re-add the Gmail Contacts on the smartphone, complete the following:

Remove Gmail Contacts:

1. Swipe down from the top bezel.
2. Select Settings.
3. Select Accounts.
4. Select Gmail Contacts.
5. Select Delete at the bottom.

Re-add Gmail Contacts:

1. Select Add Account at bottom of the Accounts screen
2. Select Advanced.
3. Scroll down and select CardDAV.
4. Enter the Gmail email address as the Username.
5. Type the Gmail email address as the Email Address.
6. For Server Address type google.com
7. Set the Sync Interval as needed.
8. Tap Done.

Only use ONE master contact list. If outlook is your preferred account then use that. Do NOT sync contacts on any other account, including local or sim cards contacts.

Also, in the contacts app, if you swipe to the right, you will see all of your different contacts accounts, just like your accounts in the hub, so if you turn off automatic merge, you can select your different lists of contacts.
