Anyone having this problem? Like I said the only pattern I can see is it does it when the charge gets under 50 percent. If I try restarting it immediately it just shows the Classic logo and the battery icon.
It will not restart unless I plug a charger in after that point.

Have you checked your settings in "Battery Saving Mode?"
It sounds like the battery is on it's way out.
You may want to have a can of condensed air handy to clean the ports and between the keys and so on. Dust builds up and can cause a poor
connection.
Battery saving mode is and always has been set to kick in at 20 percent. I verified tonight that the phone does the bricking immediately when it reaches 50 percent battery life.

So, it's gotta be the puppy chow or the battery. Try replacing the battery first. You may wanna hang on to the puppy chow for something
to munch on until we resolve this issue.
From your description I'm sure it's the battery.
If you do buy a replacement battery, don't look for a "deal." Buy a good new one from a reputable source or go on Amazon. com. They back up the products bought on their website.
Keep me informed. If it's not the battery I know a great native indian rain dance, the correct direction to face when praying to the sun gods and a few VooDoo tricks.
And, did I mention, I know you must be frustrated but don't lose your sense of humor over this.
