My classic is going insane and is swiping through pages by itself. The touchscreen rarely works for me anymore and instead when I try to swipe a random app will open. I'm watching it do its thing right now lol. Any suggestions?

The digitizer needs to be replaced
You think so?
any chance it's a software issue?
I had this problem with my 9900 once... It only happened in direct sunlight, it sent my device into a frenzy... I did end up replacing the digitizer (as mentioned above) and this cleared the issue immediately... The Classic, however, is not nearly as easy to self repair as the legacy devices are... It CAN be done, but it requires confidence, dexterity and patience... I would recommend, if your device is insured or if you still have a warranty on it (if it was purchased via your carrier, etc) attempting to get a replacement sent to you. If you are in a location where phone repair shops exist and are easily accessed (i.e. NOT in the US as here it is preferred we kowtow to our toss-away capitalistic economy and throw away our devices while opting to spend money for a new one) I suggest taking it to a repair shop. But, if all else fails, the screen is pretty affordable and there are various GREAT How To's on the interwebz that can guide you through the process... OR, Classics ARE pretty cheap these days... No harm in hunting down another...

You could always attempt a factory reset OR even a complete OS wipe and reload... These will give you the best indication on whether or not it IS software... Just back-up your device 1st (as you probably already know, but in case you are reppin' n00b status, figured I'd toss that advisory out there...). Most likely it's the digitizer though... But never hurts to trouble shoot thoroughly and I have been wrong plenty times before... :)

okay. Doing a factory reset via link right now
Got the same freaking issue....

Well folks after a factory reset via link.. same issue persists. I have to admit I purchased this device on eBay from a seller with 100% rating, so I'm pretty disappointed. Device is otherwise in mint condition. Will be requesting a return immediately.
It could just be a lemon. It happens, hopefully you'll get your return.

Same thing happened to my iPhone 6+ when plugged into an outlet using a 3rd party charger. It felt like being hacked, like someone had root access to my phone.

You get what you pay for..........ratings mean nothing. You can get a brand new out of the box for $299 or less on Amazon through a merchant account. People still use eBay lmao. You always have increased risk when buying a "used" or "nib" electronic online......sigh
J Be....Here But Gone...
So I decided to turn the device off re wrap it to prepare for return. The seller asked me to send him a video of what was occurring. I take it out of the box, fire it up, and now it seems to be working fine. I can't get the issues to reoccur. What gives? Maybe the OS had time to settle? I have no idea. All I know is a few ours ago this device was literally unusable because it was out of control.
It will come back... I've read accounts of "static" being the blame too... something about the shielding being improper... are you using the stock charger?
On my side i dont

And i Just found a Lil crack on the top corner screen....perhaps the digitizer is going haywire...ill replace it

See? Joewoo thinks the same. Not using the stock charger can cause sporadic movements.
So are you using the stock charger?
