Just wondering if its bad for my classic battery to use the charge cable that came with my BlackBerry curve? Its doesn't appear to have affected my q10 or z30 batteries, I just wanted to be safe with this beauty.

Just the cable? A cables a cable.

The charger may not have enough power.

A cable is not a cable as it can have the pins wired differently, or made differently as to how it can transfer charges.

Ex- I used a non BB usb cable on my 2.1A O/P 3000mAh external battery to use on my Passport. It warned me to use the supplied cables. I plug in the BB usb cable from my charger into the same ext battery and no warning.

Blackberry phones are the pickiest I've ever seen when it comes to cables and chargers. Everybody else in my house can charge their phones with whatever happens to be lying around, but I'm just as likely to get an error message with the phone refusing to charge.

I try to hoard the BlackBerry chargers for myself, because they really are made better than most, and I never have issues with them.

My collection of BlackBerry chargers is large so one is always available. Cables are cables in my world. Length is important so longer cables are often used if or not OEM. Never had an issue so long as the charger was OK.

The charger that came with the Classic is a cheap piece of shizz... It's reminiscent of those sold along side some generic android tablet... That scummy Foxconn feel... I use my PlayBook's charger (my PlayBook has a dock anyways, the charger was brand new...) works perfectly!

Playbook charger is a beast for sure! I won't let *anyone* else use it!

OP there are ebay stores that sell brand new OEM BlackBerry chargers for cheap, often $5 or less with free shipping, authentic BlackBerry cable as well. It's worth stocking up!

I use the charger that came with it in my office, but at home I use the charger from my Q-10 or 9810.

In my car I use a generic charger that works just fine.

Cable gauge is an important factor in carrying the required current from the charger to the battery.

I was using the old cable that came with my Q10. But ive just gotten 2 Tylt wireless chargers. One for the living room and one for the bedroom. So now more cables for me at home.

And I'll soon be switching to wireless charging in the car also.

I obviously love the wireless charging feature on my Classic.
