Hey guys. I've got a few questions about devices that are carrier branded. These questions probably apply to all BlackBerry phones and carriers, but I am particularly concerned with the AT&T Classic.

1) Is there a special boot up animation with the carrier's logo? Is there any sound or jingle that plays?

2) Are there any carrier apps installed by default that I would not be able to remove?

3) is there anything else I should know when looking at these carrier versions that might not be obvious?

I know if I were to get a phone with OS 10.3.1, I could just autoloader, but I'm hate to have to deal with crap if I was stuck on a newer version.

1) White screen with blue AT&T globe appears for a short period of time. No sound.
2) You can remove the apps you don't want.
3) The AT&T Classic allows wireless charging while the ShopBB version does not. The radio bands are slightly different, too. Thus, you may not get LTE in all areas if you pop an AT&T sim into a factory unlocked phone.

I thought I was buying an unbranded, unlocked BB Classic from the BB Store here in Sydney recently (it's not associated with Blackberry) and instead I got an AT&T branded, locked Classic and I paid full Aus price for it - $500. That sucks big time!!!!

Anyway, the only branding is the back cover of the phone that has the embedded AT&T globe image.

I was given the 'unlock' key and I run Optus (Aus) unlocked on it. So, I don't get any splash screen or sound.

My version is the SQC100-2, which is AT&T's international model.

The bands it has are:
UMTS: 1,2,5,6
LTE: 1,2,3,4,5,7,17,20

I can download directly the OS and updates from Blackberry or through BB Link.

How would I know/test for wireless charging?
