    Hello!

I have a Classic and several other phones and I like to switch my sim card back and forth to use different devices as my daily driver.

Anyway, for some reason, when I remove the sim card from the Classic, I can no longer connect to my home wifi which is saved in the wifi connections settings. I keep getting the "Attempt 1 of 3" and then "Connection attempt timed out." I tried turning off mobile data and no difference. Plus, when I have the sim card in and connect to wifi and then remove the sim, the Classic will disconnect from wifi within a couple of hours and be unable to reconnect - so I'm back to square one. I reboot the phone and no difference.

Anyone seen anything like this or have any suggestions on how to fix it? I'd really like to use my Classic in wifi only when I have my sim in another phone.

    Thanks!

Do you have a password on your sim card?

No - no password on the sim. It's very strange. None of my other phones do this.

Did you try deleting the saved wifi profile and connecting as a new network?

This probably has nothing to do with it, but doesn't a BlackBerry need a SIM to phone home first? When you take the SIM out dies the BlackBerry logo remain in the status bar?

Yes try deleting saved profile, reboot, create the same prfile again, should fix your issue. When you reboot, do a hard reboot with the vol up and vol down keys

I had tried deleting and re-adding the wifi profile in the past with no change, even after restarting. The problem was either the Classic didn't see the ssid (it's not hidden) or if it did see the network, the Classic thought it was a WEP network even though it's WPA2 and there was no way to change it when the Classic found the network after scanning.

This time I did the hard reboot and it still could not find the ssid. I then added the wifi network manually and it worked! At least, so far. Hopefully it won't disconnect.

    Anyway, thanks everybody!
