I've heard complaints about the camera speed on the Classic. I'm told it is very slow. Right now I am using a Q10 but would like the Classic. Has anyone experienced any issues with the camera on the Classic?

The Camera software is the issue. Also way too slow on the PP.
This is the only real complaint I have since the hardware is pretty good. The Devs just failed badly on that part of BB10.

    FWIW

Ok thanks. The camera is not a big deal for me so I may still get the Classic.

The pictures taken with flash on comes out to be very faded. My classic is on BB 10.3.1.1154.

The camera on the Classic is very sub par. It's good to have if you need to take pictures after a car accident, but don't even think about using it for "memories".

camera bar file from os 10.3.1.2480 is much better. You can get some decent shots in daytime.Further with release of camera++ app for classic, you can manually choose iso settings and get better results.

This was a deal breaker for my wife. She was considering the Classic but also wanted a decent camera.

When I bought mine, we took some pictures and right from the start they were very poor. I've since adjusted the settings every which way possible....they're still crap.

It seems like the outdoor pics are decent, but the indor pics are so grainy that I won't even bother taking indoor pics because the quality is so poor.

My older bold and curve phone took MUCH better pictures.

Auto focus takes forever on the Classic. It's not a camera you'd use if you want to quickly take a picture of somebody or something (on the move). When the lighting conditions aren't perfect, expect even longer lags before it takes a snap shot.
My Bold 9900 take pictures faster.....but then again, no macro shots possible.

I honestly don't know what you're all talking about. I have a classic and use my Note 4 for Kindle, Dunkin Donuts app and Walmart app. The camera on it is awful and there's plenty of complaints everywhere about it.
My Classic camera takes faster pics and sharper than my Note any day. We went to Chuck Cheese today with the baby and I took fantastic indoor pics with her moving around. I tried with my Note and everyone of them were blurry. The shutter is too slow on it.
I hope people will see for themselves how well the camera works. As a bonus, after the pic is taken, it's SO easy to insert it in a text or email or FB with one click. It's too easy!
To all the complainers out there, I'm sure there are better cameras on other phones. This one is great and shouldn't be a factor in purchasing the classic or not!

I was kinda impressed with the camera when I got the classic. I figured it would have been the same as the Q10 but to me has been a lot better. I also have a note 4 and have came to the conclusion that you don't buy a phone for the camera.

I have Note 4 as well (together with Classic) and although I think note makes much better photos, Classic seems to be surprisingly good and I have took really nice pictures. Didn't notice autofocus issues, not even indoor.
