Just purchased a Used BlackBerry Classic off eBay and it should be arriving tomorrow. It's the At&t version. Is there anything I should or should not be looking forward to besides the weight? I currently use a z30. Does the keyboard have the scroll feature like the Passport?

The Classic is amazing. The keyboard is really nice but no scrolling like on the passport.

How's the battery life? The guy I purchased from said he only used it 2 months and it's in pristine condition. I'm really looking forward to it especially having LTE. My current phone...z30 is a Verizon unlocked version and I use Cricket(At&t) and all I get is 4G.

Download Battery Guru from BlackBerry World see what it has to say.

I've had mine for about a week and a half I'm constantly on it. Mine is also pre-owned believe the person had it for a few months.

I run Playstore apps, watch my home surveillance system cameras. Send emails all day BBM and Text etc.

It's 6:12 pm where I am and my battery level is at 64%, Classic came off charger about 8:30 this morning.

Wow that's pretty good. What carrier are you with? When I get home with my z30 I'm usually around 50% or less.

OK cool. I am on Cricket but DL speeds are a little slow using a Verizon phone. So what menu pops up on the Classic when you press the BlackBerry key. I used to have a Bold and Curve back in the day.

Does you Z30 have 32 gigs of storage space?
If so that's one thing you'll notice, the Classic has 16 gigs of onboard storage.

I'm used to 32 gigs like my Passport OG has.
But the Classic will take a 200 gig SD card. Although it's only showing 148 gigs.

I had several Z10s and Z30s prior to getting my Classic main thing to look forward to is no random shutdowns like the Z30s seem to do, although you'll still see occasional reboots. The ringer is a fair bit louder, and the keyboard shortcuts in and outside of the menus are pretty useful. Keyboard in general is the best I've seen on a mobile device. The touchpad is your friend to avoid losing any of your now very precious screen real estate when scrolling.

The trackpad is your friend for many many things. There is no more efficient way to edit text on a mobile device. Scoll to the text you want, hold shift, highlight using trackpad and press, copy, scroll to where you want it, paste.

It's the difference of using a laptop with a mouse versus a tablet. In my opinion, it's a form that BlackBerry should not get rid of. Even if you don't use it anywhere else in the OS (and you probably will - it makes one-handed use much more comfortable), it's so worth it for text editing alone.

I love the Classic and this will be a hard one to switch from when the time comes.

Yes...I agree. Selecting text on an all touchscreen phone does suck. It will be nice to have the track pad again. I just need to get familiar with all the new tool belt features

I'd almost be curious to see how a Classic would run on Android keeping the tool belt, track pad, etc

What's the best and most stable OS for the Classic? I'm looking in the Leaked OS section and I don't see any specifically for the Classic. Does it run the same Autoloader as the z30?

How do I turn off the Anti Theft protection? It's wanting me to login as the original owner. Is there anyway around this? I've already loaded a new OS.

Nope! Ask the owner for the login details. If he doesn't give it to you, he probably stole that Classic.

    Be warned:

10.3.3 is NOT a complete OS and should be avoided (at the current time of posting this), as it is for DEV work.

A stable OS for the Classic is 10.3.2.2876 , I think you will find that as the most recent OS (released). And "yes" it will run on the Z30.

The Classic is a great Blackberry! I have had mine for two years and it has the best keyboard Blackberry has ever made. The weight is really nice and it feels premium, not cheap. The battery usually lasts me all day, I am always at about 10% when I get home from work and the gym. I would not have recommended buying a used one, but I understand people's budgets. Good luck with it, I hope it proves to be just as awesome for you as it has me.

I don't agree....used is the way to go. Why pay $250 when you can pay $80...that was the price difference for me yesterday buying used off kijiji....some places are still charging $350 new.....for aging software, better pricing to get it used
