to be fair though, there are very few phones that look "modern" even though they're rather old now. i mean damn, the original RAZR, and even the 8800 feel like swiss watches in your hand, until you turn on the screen that is. another really solid feeling one is the iphone 4/4s.

the irony of this is that your grandma probably would be impressed. large, easy to read screen, and none of those new fangled onscreen buttons. things change, but what's happened is the pace of change has changed. for the elderly its not an easy feat adapting. i actually did deploy a few old blackberry's which were professionally refurbished to residents in a nursing home. they loved them.

Yeah, tell me about it. My mother trying to keep up with technology!!!...wishful thinking. Then she gets upset cuz I don't teach her in 1 minute how to use her ipod. And wants to write everything down on paper.

Got a Q5 on discount for my mum. It may seem like common bloody sense to you and me, but for someone who isnt a digital native, its a valid question when they ask:

why the hell does it let me delete the phone and text buttons?????

iOS is an overkill and too expensive. picked up the brand new Q5 for US$90. hopefully it solves her problems.

for users who just want a smooth experience, want premium materials, i hope this is what the Q20 can achieve. i dont mind paying flagship prices for something that feels luxurious and gives good performance, even with so called lesser specs. whats the point of having a 4 core processor if the browser is more sluggish? etc. but for the budget market i think they cant survive unless they heavily leverage on foxconn.

foxconn can do amazing luxury stuff as well though... so lets see
