Hey so this is probably a dumb question... but got to ask is it normal for the classic to always have something highlighted... I'm guessing it is to do with the track pad? It's like I've scrolled dover it no matter what I'm doing even if I haven't ... if that makes sense...

See screen shot for example the highlight is there automatically just from swiping left.

Didn't have this on my passport so just want to know if it is a normal classic thing?

Every Classic Screenshot I've seen has something highlighted, probably for the Trackpad Scrolling

If you disabled it, you wouldn't know what you're selecting!

Not necessarily... The selection would then be visible again when you use the trackpad / scroll with it.

I too find it rather annoying and hope I can in future disable it. At the moment, this always highlight is my biggest gripe with the Classic. It's even so much more a pain when I'm in the Calendar. :-(

On OS7 and below the blue highlight was present, but in a non-aggressive manner... it was a lighter more translucent blue and it didn't overtake images more so seemed to border the images as opposed to highlighting EVERYTHING... Hopefully going forward this will be an issue BlackBerry corrects.. for now my quick fix has been to park my trackpad cursor on the screen somewhere and scroll with my finger in circumstances where picture viewing is a priority, the highlight hinders this enjoyment greatly... For example I used my Twitter account, parked the cursor over the 'search' and scrolled finger-to-screen to avoid the blue...

An unnecessary step, but for now it works... Hopefully an OS update in the future will fix this...

Typically that's what I do as well. I'd prefer a way to turn the highlight off until the trackpad is used. This and the permanent bottom bar in most apps are about my only two UI gripes with the Classic.

Funny I was looking for an answer to this the other day. Guess I'll have to hope they update this in another OS.
