Seeing as how there are no official numbers yet. If that's the rumored weight, it's somewhere around the same as the Z30... which is not a heavy device. Personally, I always liked the weighted feeling of the keyboard devices as it allowed the device to sit firm in your hand as you punched out texts, emails, reports or write stories. All of which I look forward to doing again when the Classic comes out.

You guys are funny. It's so easy. Just get the phone with the weight that fits you.
I think the weight of the passport is just right for its shape and material. It's looks square and sturdy. Stainless steel. Unique with an oomph. The keyboard glows.

Heavier phones are better because when your drunk and your body gets all tingly you still know its in your pocket instead of lost in some random location.

If 177g in your pocket effects the way you walk or is heavy to the point of bothering you then you need to get on a diet and hit the gym. Even if the weight was cut down 77% down to 100g that would mean carrying the extra 77g in your pocket would effect you so it's either your really really fat and the phone disappears in your fat rolls or insanely skinny and anorexic and the phone weighs you down. Whichever one it is it's pointing to a useless thread.

This argument would only be valid if you were comparing devices such as laptops that can weigh a couple of pounds each, but posting a complaint about 177 grams? Are you joking?

So, I wasn't sure what 177 grams was. So I used BlackBerry assistant which worked beautifully to tell me that it's about half the weight of a can of coke.

So, to the OP...I for one don't care about 6 ounces. Won't bother me at all. Especially if that means they added an ounce to the battery.

Maybe it's a stupid argument but he somehow has a point, did you try carrying a Z10 and an iPhone5? The light weight is good on the iPhone5

That being said it's not something people won't buy the phone for, it's just something that people who try the phone will keep in mind, like when someone asks to see it in the mall or at Starbuck, they will immediately notice the weight difference.

Some people actually like a heavier phone.

They like how it feels more solid.
