I need to press the power button few times to get the touch screen working
or need to restart the phone
trackpad working fine

Hard reset your classic, press volume up and down rockers together, keep pressing, avoid the screen readings untill blackberry logo starts loading, leave the rockers, let the phone starts, leave it for a couple of minutes to settle down, now see if this solves ur problem

I would try the hard reset and if that doesn't work, security wipe.
