Blackberry Classic on OS 10.3.2.2876 battery draining rapidly eg approx. 6 hourly. Having to charge fully twice every 24 hours. Only started happening about 2 to 3 weeks ago. Was charging once daily before. Big problem now as the battery will have 80% charge when I go to bed (11pm) and 4am in the morning clicks into battery saving mode with 20%. The phone is in cover not being used and drops 60% charge. The alarm is not being used. Only new app is Face10 + messenger which I have logged out off and stopped using and problem still exists.
Checking battery monitor and it shows System 10%, PIM services 8%, standby 15% (when face10 was being used that came in at around 8%)
My business partner is having exactly the same problem.
    Any advice would be appreciated
    thanks

Go to control panel or to device monitor to see what consumes this much battery life eventually delete any new apps

Go to Settings -> Security and Privacy -> Application Permissions -> From the drop down Menu, find out which apps are RUNNING IN BACKGROUND and Which APPS are RUNNING WHEN MINIMISED and disable those apps that you do not wish to continue working in the background or when minimised in order to save battery.

    Hope this helps

My Classics battery life has got much worse since the last update, just thought it would settle down after a week or two but it hasn't. I went to bed last night at 11pm and the phone was fully charged, checked it at 7pm this morning and the battery life was at 80%. Had received about 10 emails during the night and it was connected to my home wi-fi.

I used *.840 for long time, was better for baterry than *.2474 and especially *.2876.

I've got .2876 installed and have the same problem. Battery life is abysmal - can't get through the day without recharging around midday. In the list of battery uses, Standby seems to be the cause of the drain. Seems like something in the build isn't shutting down properly when the phone isn't being used.

    Battery Management
    - disable " run in background " in all apps
    - disable " run while minimized" in all apps
    - turn off data services when not needed
    - I turn down "display" to 25% (1/4)
    - turn on battery saving mode when only needing phone and texting...
    - disable NFC
    -disable Blutooth
    - disable wifi when not needed
-disable location services when not needed
    -close apps using device monitor

No different than management of your home electrical bill, why having everything on when not in use or needed in the moment :-)

Simple option is to update to the next coming update. My passport q10 Z30 all have poor battery life compared to previous OS. Only leap dint show much of difference. But the only phone in which android apps are installed is leap
Anyways I am pretty much sure that this OS is not good for battery, atleast in my case(all the BlackBerry I have). So I am now patiently waiting for next os which should arrive soon!

With Bb10 updates i never had battery improvements, every new update brings battery issues. Ive learnt not to upgrade, and i stick to it, unless thr new release brings MANYnew features.

I myself have also noticed a sharp decrease in battery life.

I have only had my Classic about a month now and the battery is mostly a 12 hour day on moderate use.

I was hoping for a battery life a day or so. Some of the earlier reviews had the battery much better but now the trend with this OS being lower.

My phone's box had the manufactured date as July of 2015 so it's not even a year old. Only purchased this phone back in March.

    Any thoughts from anyone??

Have software release 10.3.2.2836 installed which is the current one, no updates available.
    System usage is 63 %
    Standby 58%
I have been trying different things over the past month and last weekend I checked a handful of emails on the Saturday and it dropped by 80% in 4 hours. It had to be fully charged 3 times in 24 hours. The phone is being kept in case that puts it to sleep when not in use, but the system is clearly running even when it is supposed to be in sleep mode ? Just don't know what to do.

full day without a problem, it is probably an app that is banging on your battery. Check the device monitor to see what's killing your battery. Classic should be rock solid for everything but android apps which can be a bit choppy or google play services required and just not run at all. It's probably a social app that is misbehaving, usually something over-polling for updates or syncing your entire personal life!

It could also be the reception where you are? If the phone is bouncing between different towers trying to get better reception this can cause battery issues. I experienced this with my Z10 at my previous employer. I used the android port of Open Signal which showed my phone switching between 2 towers over 50 times a day. When ever I was at work I had really poor battery, and phone usage was light. At night and weekends my battery life was much better, didn't drop below 70% and had medium usage.

Also, I appear to have the OS that people are having an issue with on my Classic - but I haven't experienced any battery drain at all *touch wood*
