No, .4 inch diagonally. Different from across.... still looks good.

of course i was talking wider diagonally as the Q10 isn't 3.1" wide but in diagonal.

It was mentioned before, but this seems to be good confirmation that the sim tray is located on the outside now. I believe that is an SD card slot below too.

    Sim and SD outside-
It looks like the Classic will have a non removable battery :/
    Thats not a classic then.

It is starting to appear that way. So let's hope for some great battery life.

That's a matter of interpretation. The general consumer would not consider a removable battery unique to BB, however the toolbar in some form is a classic feature of BB.

I've been on the fence with the Classic -- I have a Q10 now -- but no removable battery, no sale.

I was referring to it appearing as not having a removable battery. I definitely think it can still be considered "classic" without. It's more to do with the return of the tool belt than anything.

The track pad looks very Small beside the one of the 9900!

A non removable battery would be like taking a shotgun and shooting your own knee: why would someone do this?

    no charging contacts
    no convenience keys
    no battery removal.

i guess the only classic thing about the Q20 is the toolbelt.

hope the next gen classic would have one of those and please make a smaller version.

    more power to you blackberry.

    I disagree.

Assuming that a charging dock will be available for the Classic, constant plugging and unplugging from the dock via the USB Port is likely to produce high wear of the port, something that Charging Contacts would completely alleviate.

Nothing is simpler than dropping the Bold into and picking it up out of its charging dock and there is nothing to wear and or break.

Imagine what damage could be caused to the phone if it was accidentally knocked off your desk whist physically connected to a charging dock via the USB Port.

As for wireless charging, great if it is available on the Classic, but unlikely IMO as it seems that not even all models of the Passport will have it and the Passport is supposed to be the highest spec BB10 device to date.
i agree ^ on this + charging contacts was one of my concern cause it was reportedly non removable batt. Photos popping out now showing left side SIM and SD slot (like the Q5). I guess theres no reason to open the back anymore.
Wireless charging on classic? i doubt it. Theyre releasing 3 Qwerty phones.2 highend Porsche - Luxurious Khan P9983, Business Premium - Passport and Q20 Aka classic (budget) good luck on that.

I maybe wrong on this though.

They are using the same internals as the z30 and my z30 has wireless charging. Don't be too sure it won't be included.

Agree, I read the SD is hot swappable, so I understand that as needing to be on the outside. It could be under the battery door, but it would take some work to create a slot allowing hot-swap with the battery in place, as prior models had the SD inserting into the side pocket of the battery after it was popped out.

So, when I read hot-swappable, I assume that means it will fit into a hole in the outside edge somewhere. Unfortunately, taking up edge space for an SD makes me wonder if they'll leave the rest of the edge a clean line, or add a convenience key like on the older blackberries. (Convenience key is another thread, another topic, however).

I think you mean the SIM. My Z10 and previous BB's didn't need the battery removed to swap the SD. Just the battery cover. They have all been hot swappable as far as I know, or at least I always treated them that way.
