Blackberry Classic can't connect to 2.4ghz wifi

the phone can only connect to 5G wifi. I tried on other routers at my friend's house, stores, public area, malls etc. It can't connect to a 2.4ghz wifi.

Connecting to a 2.4ghz always fails to connect, "attempt failed." Or sometimes a prompt will pop up, authentication problem. But I'm sure all credentials are correct.

5G wifi has no problem connecting to it.

Does someone knows about this? Or if someone went through this as well?

I've never noticed folks only having issues with one band.

My guess....

Could open and check the antennas, could run an Autoloader to rule out software...

So it "sees" the 2.4 network but can't connect? What type of Internet service/router combo do you have?

I’ve had the reverse happen either because the BB10 device lacked 5.0 WiFi network or wouldn’t connect due to something in protocol settings. That I was able to fix with a factory reset. If that’s no good, then I suppose autoloader is the next in order.

First, I would strongly urge to rule out any potential issues with your wireless router (they go "stale" at times and need a reboot or you may need to select a different channel for the wifi). Do that first and if that doesn't change the matter, then I'd consider a factory reset or autoload fresh install.
