Does anybody know how to turn BlackBerry assistant off on the Classic - and I mean totally off. It is driving me nuts.

Only the pause button (between the volume buttons) opens it when you hold it. You can turn that off through settings

Thanks very much, pttptppt - very useful info as I don't greatly want to use the assistant either and found it bonkers that it could be activated by the 'pause' button when the phone is locked in my pocket!

Yes, I already found how to disable the pause button - thanks for taking the time to respond. Does anybody know how to disable the keyboard too? Is there likely to be a fix for this?

I'm sure the assistant is very useful for some, but for those who don't need it, it is a royal pain.
