Yup. Just emailed a nice email to the customer service desk to investigate.

    RedBerry Passport / 10.3.2.2339 / Telus
My saga began with nice emails and phone calls. After a week, of still not getting to first base with filing a claim, I lost patience.

Please post your outcome here. I'd like to know if my experience was exceptional or the rule.

Sounds a lot like the old Rogers mobility plan with pro mobility as their insurance Co. I went thru all kinds of hoops and ended up with a cheque for about a third of what was promised. Now I just get (in the case of my iphone loving daughter) the iphone directly from Apple with their coverage. I did get insurance once thru Future Shop, back when I had my Bold 9900 and it died on me. I took it in to Future Shop and it was replaced with a nice Q10. Even Virgin Mobile Canada has an insurance plan similar to Blackberry's. I would not touch either with a ten foot pole. If I break my phone, I have backup Bb's and/or I'll just but a new one when the prices come down. It ends up about the same in the long run. * note: this is my experience, not saying everyone else should *

I had a good experience with Assurion through Rogers with a Q10. Didn't hesitate to go with them again for the PP.

I heard it was good, right up until they went belly up and Rogers had to cover the rest of us. Glad to hear you had a good experience

Don't know, I just moved my daughter over to Virgin Mobile Canada, I have zero complaints other than I don't trust their insurance plan either.

The Rogers interface to make a claim is still Asurion. What makes you think it's no longer the carrier?

I had insurance with Bell on my 9900. I lost the phone during year one and replacing the phone was as easy as a phone call. I understand that you do not want to continue with the carrier plan too long because at some point the deductible and premiums exceed the device value.

No insurance on my $199 Z10.

Actually that's why I said I didn't know, but I checked on my past correspondence with Rogers and out here in BC they had Pro Mobility out of Richmond Hill, Ontario as their coverage. Maybe it's different in each province? It also could be that's who Rogers is dealing with now. My problems were in 2014....

I'm in BC and they've had Asurion since at least the end of 2014. Great service with a brand new device for me and about 3 other ppl that I can think of at the moment.

I got the email promotion today, too. When I saw the $99 deduction, I deleted it right away.

Well mhw100, I just don't know what I can say other than I had a very costly experience with Rogers mobility using their Pro Mobility Plan. I am sincerely glad you have had a good experience!

I ended up getting the plan. I mean really the price isn't that bad. So I figured why not give it a shot.

Maybe I'll have a better experience if I have to use it

Please keep us posted and stay tuned to see whether those of us whom the plan failed or were cheated (charged USD instead of the promised CAD) get refunded.
