Care to share. I have the option in the phone set to allow for push but I'm not getting push at all like my 9900 and BIS.

I get it on my q10 as well. I didn't set anything special. I just signed and and it works. I get my emails immediately.

If you have Gmail or GApps Free account you will get your mail in imap-idle (idle-push) mode. If you're GApps paid user and set your account as EAS (Exchange Active Sync) then it will work in direct-push mode like it was on 9900 using BIS.

Also direct-push works on Outlook.com free via EAS.

I'm not sure where this idle-push comes from but I get my emails on my phone before they even hit my desktop if I happen to have gmail open. It's instantly just like my outlook.com and both are set up as imap.

It only depends on how you set your account. You can set Gmail only as imap or pop3 but you can set outlook.com as EAS.

EAS works in direct-push mode, IMAP in idle-push. Using IMAP you can get your mail immediately but may not if something is wrong with connection between imap server and device.

Thanks for the tip. For what ever reason it is now working after leaving the phone alone for 12 hours i assume it has finally synced up and it pushes. Wish i knew exactly what caused it to work but my guess would be patience is the key here for new OS10 users like myself.

    Thanks

well if synced forever and have a bunch of emails it will take forever to sync. upon setting up a new phone you should always know it will take anywhere from 24-72 hours to settle and catch up. i always set up my email accounts during the night so it can sync uninterrupted while i sleep and it be on the charger.

The problem wasn't the emails synching, it would send emails fine it just would not receive. Again can't explain why it is working but it is.
