Yes I get the same on my Classic. Indoors it's terrible at times and drops calls.

No problem here with VZW. I get same signal strength as my iPhone 6+

Never lost reception so far - however my Passport does drop reception from time to time...

Not great reception indoors such a supermarkets, university etc. But it think it's not the phones issue.

Not even a single problem regarding signal or call drop with my classic

Never had an issue with mine. Generally always full bars. I find that when it's sitting next to an iPhone on the same carrier, I can have full signal, and the iPhone has one or two 'dots'.
Are you using a case on your classic that could be mucking it up?

No problems, except that I work in a metal building on an island. My VZW classic has identical reception to my VZW Z30.
From a Classic
I don't have bad reception. But I have noticed that when I have two antena bars and open the text app the antena shows an X. It almost always happens in that situation. It's almost like the phone is lying to me about the signal strength until I actually have to use the phone. Weird. But when I do make a call I have rarely had a dropped call.

I have this issue, too. I think it happens when composing an email. I also had this issue when I had the Priv for a week.
My Z10 had better signal strength. The Classic's strength is on par with my (work) iPhone on the same carrier.

I never had an issue with mine that I know of. I got the same reception everywhere and Ive used a z10, classic, Passport, and Priv all on TMO. Could be a defective antennae maybe?
The funny thing is that it would also happen on my Bold 9900. I guess it's called a "classic" for a reason. Lol
My Z10 also had better signal strength, and it didn't lose signal when I was about to use it.

I'm on Tmobile and they sent me a cellspot. Today's the first day I've used it (and only for a few hours) but haven't noticed the red X so far.
I think it's a bit odd that I don't have full strength (4 bars), though.
