Here's a screenshot from the settings app on the same OS as your classic using font size 5:

My ultimate wish is for everything to become small. The bottom and top bars included.
But in this menu, are there only 6 total items selectable in the whole menu or can you scroll down further? I'm just thinking that perhaps the menus automatically scale to fit the screen if there are less than 8 rows items to be shown?

    Brightness is set to 100%

As you can see, it is badly done. But if you access a submenu, then it's properly done.

It's just like that across the entire OS (inconsistent). I'm certain it's the same on your classic, but I still have a small glimpse of hope it's something hardware related...

    Hi,

I'm afraid that this battery capacity isn't enoug for me to last for a day. Does you evaluation version of the classic have a removable battery?

    Greets!
    Battery is not removable.

Note that I added 4 emails accounts, facebook, twitter, linkedin accounts and the initial sync was going on in the usage time. Brightness was also set to 100%. Am sure once can get some more hours reducing brightness and with general use after the initial sync of accounts

So it is the same.. shame. Nothing an OS update can't fix, though. Thanks.

Thanks VERY much for providing us with battery feedback - it is very helpful. I 100% agree that the initial syncs themselves will completely skew the battery info and how long it lasted that first day really isn't an indicator of how it will do during a normal day of usage.

With that in mind, I was hoping you could let us know how a "normal" day of usage goes once the initial syncs subside? Maybe a regular business day if you're a business user? I'm hoping it will last for 5 hours talk time + 1 exchange real-time sync (200 e-mails/day) + 15 hours standby...

Thanks very much for your help!

Yeah, that's the rub toolbelt fans will have to put up with; wasted screen space to accommodate the slab type users.

This is really annoying. The Classic was announced in February 2014 and such a basic adjustment is still missing.

    1) Can you lower the screen brightness or is it the same as Q10?

    2) Do you think the LCD screen is better than Amoled? And why? For Example: how is reading text compared to Q10?

Can you confirm if it'll have slimport, mhl, or neither? I've been hearing slimport but want to be sure before I start ordering the adapters...

I am, I will sell the Classic when the next one comes out as long as they don't screw something else up about it like slapping the passport 3-row keyboard on it or something...

Does pressing the send/call button take you right to the last dialed numbers if the Classic's screen light is off or do you need to swipe up on the screen first, like the Passport and the Q10, in order to make the phone active (and only then press the send button)

    The brightness can be lowered.

The LCD screen is definitely better than the Amoled, when you compare the classic to the Q10

Yes you need to swipe first. Pressing the send button will bring up the lockscreen and ask that you swipe to unlock
