wonderful thread! thank you very much for taking the time to do this. some of the things i've been concerned about:

1. the pictures released suggest the phone 'feels' cheaper than the Q10; is the skeleton metal or plastic? is the button 'belt' one continuous piece of plastic or separate buttons?
2. how well is the trackpad integrated into the built-in apps? is navigation via the trackpad consistent and complete in, for example, the hub, calendar, BBM, maps, music, etc.?
3. does the phone app still have the annoying large 'end call' button on the screen, or is it (hopefully) gone so we can use the physical button instead?
4. are there more keyboard-based shortcuts in the hub? do they match the shortcuts from BBOS?

I'm hoping for better hardware than the 2 year old hardware in my Q10 but I guess we'll have to wait for the Classic 2 and hope they don't put the gimped 3-row keyboard on it...

I just got an evaluation Classic device to test, If you have any questions please feel free to ask and I will try my best to provide answers.

AWESOME.. i cant wait to get it. some questions for you. thank you in advance for your time and answers!!

1) does the end button get out of apps/ browser and minimize or close apps? if you press end multiple times?
2) does the back key go back to previous page within an app? so the touch screen back key at the bott. left is not there? or web browser? still a touch back key? or just physical back button?
3) difference between back key and end key with multiple presses in multiple apps/ operations?
4) up gesture comfort w/ trackpad there? can you disable up gesture?
5) can you store a shortcut for hub? like H for hub open?

How does the classic compare size to other phones? I can not tell from pictures and haven't seen any size specs to compare it to anything. I am torn between this or the passport.

Although, the Classic camera has improved optics - so expect better low light and colour range.

not yet sure its actually still charging at the moment. am using it on wifi because my primary line is in my passport.

I will see if i can use it as daily driver for 1 day, maybe from tomorrow so that I can ascertain the actual battery life

Your spec paper seems to be wrong in the size and weight measurements. The classic doesn't seem to be taller than the passport.
