Hey, I'm wondering if it's software or hardware, but I've noticed that every now and then while typing quickly that it'll miss a punctuation mark and would enter the letter instead. For example I'll mean to type a comma but it'll type a "n" instead. I'm not sure if this is due to the alt key not working right or the OS skipping over the alt key when typing quickly. I ask this because if I'm just testing it, pressing alt a bunch of times it'll always properly show the alt icon on the top right, so I don't notice it not registering... Anyone else have this issue?

    Hey slagman,

My wife has a Classic - I checked with her and so far she has not seen this problem. Her device is still on default OS (.1154) - I will be installing 2267 this weekend - will check it again after that and let him know.

It may be the speed, because it's only if I'm really tapping away like a mad man, but don't remember having the issue with the Q10 or Bold 9900 but it's also only once in a blue moon, maybe not even 1/10 of the time, and what's also more peculiar is that it's mainly within Universal search, which also leads me to believe it's software...

The universal search/assistant of 10.3.1 is definitely the weak link, that's the one place where the most improvement is needed. Still laggy as hell on .2072...

    Hey slagman,

Maybe you can help me and check something out on your Classic, since you have updated the OS - I started a thread but no one has responded - would appreciate the help!

Has to do with launching BBMapps from a calendar entry - the thread has all the details

    Thanks in advance!

No such problem so far. Keeping my fingers crossed that this doesn't happen on mine. Had mine for just under two months.

Such a problem only occurred on the virtual shift key of my Passport, all my Classic keys are working fine so far - at least in terms of responsiveness.

I don't know about address, but I have a calendar entry that says a specific park and when I touched the icon for it, it launched the map and went to the park, so maybe it's fixed?

Maybe 2072 fixed it - if you have a minute, maybe you could enter a proper format address into a calendar entry in LOCATION and try it for me - would appreciate it tons!

Thanks for testing it for me - hopefully 2072 or 2267 on her Classic will fix it for her.

And now that she is home from errands, I tried to duplicate your alt key issue: I found, as you did, that it seems to be speed related. And it seems like it is a situation of the speed maybe causes not putting quite as much pressure on the alt key. I tried it again, typing as fast as I could, but making a conscious effort to ensure I was firmly pushing the alt key, and it seemed to help.

Thanks again for testing the maps thing for me!

I noticed the same issue. John Chen please fix.
    Or can I return it?
