Moved back to the classic from the iPhone recently. I like having the keypress sounds when i type. They used to be on every bb earlier. Is there anyway to have them on the Classic? I couldn't see a toggle for them to be on or off like before. Not the number dial tones- the tones when any key is pressed.

    Thanks.

in the settings there should be a keyboard/input option...then feedback. feedback is the noise the keys make

The only option there is a toggle for vibrate on correction. Nothing for tones.

I know it's personal preference, but I don't understand why anyone would want that. It's like the stupid fake shutter sounds on digital cameras. Always the first thing I do when getting a new camera is I go into settings to turn all of the stupid sound effects off, lol. Same with the typing, don't really get what purpose they serve. But I guess if you like them...

Yup- I do like them. I have the top of the line MacBook and the first thing I do is download a typewriter effects program for my keys! To each his own I suppose! I want to use the classic but this is really putting me off. And to think that all the touch screen phones allow an option to have the tones on or off. Cant understand BB anymore.

Is the clicking of the keys not enough of a sound?

Settings / Language and Input / Feedback / Keyboard Feedback Volume. Then slide it up to the max if you like.

But really? You did not bother to check the settings, or try Help on the device?

This option does not exist on my phone. Only option is for vibration.. Can't imagine why I would trade battery life for extra feedback on an already very clicky keyboard.
Any way to have the keyboard tones back?-img_20170210_200400.png

Just checked the Passport. It's an option there, but not on the Classic.

Yes, Classic does not have this option

Does anyone know what the 'keypress pop-up' is for?

It's for the on-screen buttons. When you press one, you'll see a pop-up of the symbol or number you pressed. When disabled, it only colours up.

The feedback of pressing real buttons isn't enough?

Weird request, but to each their own.
