Well, here I am again. So after some struggle with soft bricking my device (BB Classic) and then reviving it (via Z30 autoloader), because I wanted to remove the anti-theft feature, I thought it would be somehow disabled but no. So, is there any way how to disable it, or I can just throw this brick out of my window?

Does she still have access to the email address used when registering?
If so, you should be able to reset the password.

See if you can figure out which email address she was using when she first got the phone (maybe she sent you an email at some point around then?). Even if you can't figure out the password for the email account, the email account may itself have a password reset option.

That's quite impossible for me (I don't know her emails) and her (she don't remember even her main email). Is there any other way?

There is no way other than asking BlackBerry directly. Besides - I'm glad that anti theft works this way.

    Sure...

And the fact that no one has been able to bypass it in the two years the anti-theft feature has been in effect should tell you something.

Well if that is possible, why don't you just do it?
If you downgrade far enough, then there is no theft protection to bypass.

One person on the internet said they did it, yet no one on these forums has been able to replicate the results.

    Maybe because it's from 10.3.2?

Are you saying that you can allegedly downgrade from 10.3.2 to 10.3.1, but not from 10.3.3 to 10.3.2 or 10.3.1?

Lots of confusion here. Let's hone in on the essential question.

There is one way to turn off BlackBerry Protect: the user must remove his/her BlackBerry ID from the device. That's how it has always worked, and always will. If the previous user does not/cannot retrieve the password to access the account used to create the BBID, then BlackBerry Protect will remain enabled.

There are no workarounds and no hacks.
