Since coming from a Q10, and now owning the Classic, the only thing I really use the toolbelt for is for calling and ending phone calls. Occasionally the Trackpad for typos. Does anybody use it to its full functionality?

You can't, the OS won't let you in some places.

That said, I try to use the toolbelt exclusively most of the time.

I wasn't aware of that. Could you give an example of where the OS doesn't let you fully use it?

I never press the little x anymore to close apps, it's much easier and takes no looking to press end to minimize and back to close. I don't bother with the on-screen back button, the physical back button is all I use now, and I also use the trackpad to click on links on non-mobile websites. I also came from a Q10.

    Fixed thread title.
(Said "male" instead of "make" originally.)

That's cool, didn't know it would close last minimized app like that.

I use it for almost all navigation instead of the touchscreen. Nowadays I mainly only use the touchscreen on Android apps. It makes one handed use so much more comfy.

I didn't realise that you could close apps like that either. Just tried it, and it works brilliantly. I'll try and 're-train' myself to close apps this way from now on. Thanks for that info!

Same here but the best part is hanging up using the physical button.

I just discovered that you can push "back" twice and it will close the app. Cool.

I also only use it for hanging and picking up the phone. I believe that there is no other way to do so.

I use mine all of the time too. Love the ease of the tool belt. I don't find it redundant at all.

Must say, tool belt has been a great addition to classic! I have used q10 and bold 9900 in past. I must say that I am completely in love with blackberry classic

Since learning today how to close apps with the toolbelt, I'm using it a lot more. It totally beats swiping up on the screen and pressing the 'x' in the bottom right hand corner!

Yes, I hate needing to precisely touch a very small part of the screen just to do something as simple as close an app. Pressing a physical button that you can feel without looking directly at the phone is an excellent alternative.

Most of the time I use my tool belt. I also come from a Q10 and appreciate the return of the tool belt. Nothing is better then navigating around a OS with a single thumb ;-)

For some reason the huge majority of the useful functions for the menu button have been relegated to pressing and holding the trackpad button, which is disappointing because the point of the menu button was to instantly have those functions available with one press. Now to open a new tab in the browser, or to save a picture in the browser, or copy/delete anything within the OS (pictures, messages, etc.) you have to longpress the trackpad, and the menu button is practically useless as a result, but the rest of the toolbelt I've found very useful, and I like it a lot.

I really don't use the belt as much as I thought I would. I mostly use the call keys, and back key. I rarely use the trackpad, or menu key, surprisingly.

Most obvious and rightly so, are Android apps but it may not be to some. Would be more proper for BB to make this fact more apparent to many.

Hotspot Login screen forces you to use touch most of the time; I think its an OS bug.

Hub hamburger menu, while it can be accessed without touch, is very inconvenient to do so.

I use the trackpad for 95% of navigation on the phone. There's the odd text box, or the lower left menus on bb10 apps that I sometimes have to touch, but otherwise the trackpad gets me everywhere.

My only issue is with waking the device. I understand I can use u+enter but it's an odd position and breaks flow. I wish that I could long press the call button or BlackBerry key assuming the screen wasn't locked.

I did find I can press the trackpad and swipe up in a fluid motion, but it'd be better if I didn't have to touch the screen.

I am getting my Classic today. I am looking forward to not scrolling with the touchscreen like I did on the Q10 but having a full view of websites without my fingers getting in the way. I have used the 9900 in the past and missed the track pad functionality while scrolling through lists.

I use the trackpad as much as possible. It's just so much faster and more accurate in navigation and text editing. I still swipe for navigation, but the idea of a trackpad means my fingers rarely ever need to leave the general area of the keyboard. I feel strongly that every QWERTY phone should have a trackpad and it's the only reason I didn't go for a Passport.

I couldn't care less about the other keys on the toolbelt, there are suitable and equivalent alternatives for those, and not having those wouldn't change much.

    But the trackpad? Absolute must.

I have only had the phone a day now but I'm right back to where I left off with my 9930. I have been using the toolbelt almost exclusively without needing to tape the screen.

For me it's like welcoming back a old friend that was really missed. Love this thing.
