A lot of people still want an all touch device to replace a z10.
So, what about a device based on the classic with the same dimensions and external materials so it would use the same cases, the same holster and charging docks but would just be all touch?
The screen size would likely split the z10 and the z30 and probably be around 4.7 inches which seems to be a really popular size right now.

Wouldn't it not be considered "Classic" if it had no buttons (ie. the tool belt)?

Some people have just too much time on their hands. An "all touch" classic?

Yes. OP asks for an all touch phone, with the dimensions of the Classic. Why is it so hard to understand? Or why get stuck with the name?
Personally these devices - 4.7inch or bigger- are not my cuppa but they seem popular so if they can expand bb10 reach and our app options I'd say its a good idea: a future 4.7ish all touch should be based on the Classic

So just a bigger screen z10? The Z10 and the Classic virtually have the same specs. The battery, screen size, hardware keyboard, and tool belt are the only things that are different. The insides are the same. 1.5GHz Dual Core Qualcomm MSM8960. 2GB RAM. 8MP Camera.

No, it wouldn't be called a classic.
It would just be based on the frame of the classic to cut costs and to share cases etc.

By keeping the physical size the same, it would help with accessories

No, it would have better specs too.

The point is to keep things consistent so case manufacturers don't have so many devices to support.
It would not be called a classic.
Also, we don't know the final specs of the classic yet.
I still think it will be an upgrade from the original bb10 phones.

    I have a z10.
It's a good phone but it needs to be updated.
It needs USA OTG, a paratek antenna. FM Radio. A much better battery. And better internal specs. It will be two years old soon.

A lot of people want an updated z10.
I am just saying that using the outer shell of the classic would be a good way to go.

I think the confusion was that this would be a better suited post in the z10 or z30 forum. If the dimensions of the phone are all we are comparing, then "all touch classic" doesn't really resonate with anyone in the classic forum since the classic is all about the keyboard and toolbelt.

Not a big deal. I was just as confused by the title too. Hopefully I explained it a little more rationally than the more feisty ones here.

I understand your love for the z10 that you are so in love with and it's short comings are propagating itself as your question here.

I would only term this as wishful thinking. Not happening.

And even if it does, will not have a classic tag to it.

Just throwing out the idea of using the same external frame as the classic to save costs and makes it easier for accessories.
Also, I actually want a Classic.
The z10 is nice but I miss the tools belt and the keyboard.

It has been pointed out that the classic is too wide for an all touch.
This is sort of true, but then, what is the wider bezels werr on the side, rather than on the top and bottom? Afterall, we hold it more on the sides than the top or bottom of the phone.

Mostly,I was just suggesting the manufacturing efficiency of having different devices as similar as possible.

Personally I'd like something in the 4.7" area. I could go a bit larger than the current Z10 but I find the Z30 a bit too large. Something in the middle would be just right in my view.
