KEYone is at BB for repair to the non-glued in display. In the meantime, I've been using my Moto e4. Decided to throw my T-Mobile SIM into my unlocked Classic and fire it up for the weekend. I noticed that there was an update available, 2MB in size so I downloaded and installed. Now, the Classic won't send or receive MMS. It worked perfectly fine before this update. No idea what the update was.

Add this to the list of stuff this ancient artifact can't do.

APN settings are all correct. Reset all APN and mobile settings. Soft reset, hard reset, etc. Nothing. I'm not going to wipe it.

Going to set it out at 300 yards and put a 5.56 right through the middle of it.

I know this thread is useless without pictures so when I find the time to do so, I'll post a before and after.

Instead of destroying maybe just gift it to me?

    Just a thought

Actually pretty easy with my setup. If not the first, definitely the second.

Well, I'm bored at work watching golf so maybe I'll wipe it and set it up again and try before I blow it up.

Whatever that 2MB update was a few days ago definitely did something to stop the MMS from working as it worked perfectly fine before then.

Did anyone else recently get this random update and if so, do you know what it was for? I was already on the latest 10.3.3.1463.

Maybe it was a carrier update that screwed something up? That would be my guess.

It's a factory unlocked device, model 100-4. Do factory unlocked BB10 devices receive specific carrier updates?

My KEYone doesn't receive carrier updates and I've used it with AT&T and T-Mobile.

Yes they can. Go here: https://forums.crackberry.com/bb10-l...rchive-943672/ and look for Thurask's link to MEGA for the autoloader archives. Follow the BB10 folder and choose 10.3.3.3057. You need to download and run the autoloader file (1.48 Gb) for the Z30. It is the same one needed for the Classic. Just download to your PC desktop, unzip it, plug your Classic in and run the autoloader .exe. Takes only 15 minutes then set up as if new with your BBID. Simple.

Thanks, I've seen that before over on MEGA . T-Mo says that they don't and didn't send an update but I don't believe it.

    I'll check it out.

That's the plan. Just can't decide on a long distance precision rifle shot or a close range 12 gauge slug shot.

Hopefully it doesn't get to that point but if it does, decisions, decisions.

Autoloader will not work. Factory wiped the device and tested, MMS works both ways now.

There is still that 2MB update available and it does say something along the lines of carrier improvements. I'm not downloading it.

Still want to break it though.

Can you elaborate? It's very easy. Download to PC desktop, UNZIP it, plug your Classic into PC and click on the unzipped autoloader .exe.

I kept getting an error. It flashed on the screen real quick and then went away every time so I couldn't see what it said but I know it did say error.

I've used autoloaders before without an issue, this time was different. Tried it numerous times, every time it was the same thing. Phone keeps connecting and disconnecting to the PC as well during the process. Using my work PC which is a hunk of garbage Win10 machine.

I'm fine with 10.3.3.2205 as long as my MMS works, which it now does.

What's the changelog anyway between 2205 and 3057?

Make sure you use a good USB cable--preferably a good BB cable. And also try a different usb port in your PC. Worth a try as I've seen certain cables NOT work properly. I misread your previous post and did not realize you had everything working properly--my bad--. You should probably just stick with what you have as there really is no improvement with 3057. Cheers

    Issue started happening again.

After a little troubleshooting of my own, it was determined that the issue at hand was somehow being caused by my always-on VPN.

Turn VPN off, MMS is sent and received as normal.

Turn VPN on, cannot send MMS and sporadically receive MMS, sometimes up to 6 hours later.

Just something to check if you're having similar issues.

Good to know. There may be settings that you can monkey with to see if you can improve things. On the Classic go: Text Messages/overflow/settings/text messages/then play with settings under Advanced. Either that or check the VPN settings. You have probably already checked into these settings.

I played with some of those yes but not all. I'll play around with some later on and if anything positive arises, I'll post my findings.

Unfortunately for the time being, my VPN is not in use on the Classic at least.
