A 4 inch 1x1 device with a regular 4 row keyboard with a twist: it would be a split keyboard. Due to the added width, the keys could be the same size as on a q10 with a mini tool belt in the middle. A send, end and trackpad. The track pad would of course be vertical. This would leave more room for the screen.
I probably will get a classic, but this is not "just basically a classic"
The screen is considably larger, yet not as large as a passport, plus it will have the send and end keys and a more conventional keyboard rather than a passport.
It would also not be so wide. It would be more one hand friendly but still much better with two hands.

Think a 5 1/2" screen would be better myself

I would go for this but skip the weird keyboard. If you could go with a 4inch screen 1440 x 1440. Round off the weird edges and make the keyboard 4 rows and touch sensitive. I would be all in. You could even skip the toolbelt

I agree.
To me I think the trackpad is the great equalizer for large phones. It makes it much easier to handle the phone and navigate with it.
