- My Passport was having Bluetooth issues so I went to my local AT&T store to test the display phones to see where the BT issue was, my phone or earpiece. The only Blackberry phone there was the Classic. WOW! I was surprised how impressed I was with that phone. It is bigger, nicer looking than I expected. The screen and speed was also nicer than expected.
Now I'm thinking of getting one as backup or my weekday phone, the Passport as my weekend phone.
Thanks for a great review.

- Hey everyone.
So regular followers of this forum will probably know I've had some trials and tests with coming back over to BlackBerry as I've noted in other threads. Originally I picked up a black Classic but after a day with it I got rid of it thinking I preferred the Q10 I'd had a couple of months before.
I ended up picking up a Q10 which just didn't do it for me anymore. It was too small, the screen wasn't great with the small size and AMOLED which didn't perform too well in all conditions.
I found myself missing the bigger keypad and size of the Classic which I regretted getting rid of.
Anyway I decided to try again with Classic, but this time I went with a white one as I liked the black, but felt that the white would be a nice change.
I got my white from Amazon delivered and there was no SD card tray in the phone straight out the brand new sealed box!

Naturally I was not happy but Amazon's great customer service saw them send me a brand new one the very next day.
So I began setting up. I currently own an iPhone 6 and have been using that since February. I like the iPhone but I was craving the BlackBerry experience again. I use my phone for communication more than anything and mostly it is WhatsApp, texting, emails, BBM, and Facebook. I knew that the Classic could do the majority of these better than the iPhone, purely because of the keypad, but intended to keep both phones so if I needed the iPhone for anything, I could swap Sims and go.
So here I am nearly 2 weeks on with the Classic. Let's just say I am in love.
This phone is, for me, one of the best BlackBerry's that I have ever used.
I am so impressed with it.
The screen is just a wonderful size. On paper the screen size doesn't seem too much bigger than the Q10, but in reality it is night and day different. So much better and the LCD means that the display can be viewed in sunshine with hardly any difficulty.
I have changed the colour settings of my screen so there is more of a blueish tint but it is perfect. It is now a lovely crisp vibrant display and looks fantastic.
I have got all my apps up and running and side loaded Snap. I have had a couple of issues which have been annoying, like Facebook not giving me any notifications. I've managed to sort this though by deleting the app and starting again by redownloading it. Now I'm getting all notifications which is great.
I find communication on this to be fantastic. The keyboard! It is just heavenly. It's quite clicky but it provides the perfect amount of feedback and for me, it is the perfect size!
I haven't touched my iPhone for the 2 weeks and I don't feel like I need to. The only thing that I miss is Instagram and I'm crying out for them to make a BlackBerry version. It really would make the device perfect for me. The android version is ok but the screen shape isn't right to view all that you can on other devices.
But there are work around.
I don't find myself using the track pad too much tbh. The tool belt keys work nicely but the track pad hardly gets touched unless I am editing things or scrolling down a list of notifications to mark as read etc. But it's great that it's there.
I could go on and on, but I wanted to highlight that with a little time, the Classic has gone far beyond my expectations.
It's a wonderful device. And I'm so pleased I picked the white.
It just looks gorgeous and I have to say, the pictures online do not do it justice.
Photos on the Web can make it look a bit cheap, which is why I was slightly apprehensive. But nope. It's just as smart and sleak as the black in hand.
Check out some pics.
Thanks for reading!

Sexy right? It's just much more fun than the black I think. But those using it as a professional device for work - go black! It's perfect for that smart, sophisticated look. But as I'm not a business man, I prefer the white ha.
Now I'm toying with selling the iPhone, as the Classic is really fulfilling all my needs and is just a joy to use!

Mind posting more pics of it? Would love to see pics of it up besides the iPhone 6 as well, more phone porn please.Aneres11 likes this.06-25-15 08:53 AMLike 1 - [I recieved an "infraction" for my post in this thread. So here is the modified and all good version of it]
You must be NOT BE joking or you are NOT a paid BB customer/employee.
BB is IN MATCH (SUPERIOR by LEAPS and BOUNDS perhaps) with the iPhones or the Androids at the moment.
The screen flickering (when opening msgs) is NOT an issue in EVERY 10.3.1.xx & 10.3.2.xx OS. And there are no other issues either.
BB have a vibrant app market.
The "security" that BB provides is way more than what that Cook and Larry provide. So, I might be moving back to one of them pretty soon if the situation changes. I really hope BB doesn't change for bad.barbarianthemadserb likes this.06-25-15 10:56 AMLike 1 - 06-25-15 12:53 PMLike 2

- Ooo I see some posts got deleted. I hadn't checked the thread for like 6 hours plus...
Anyways.
@WT44 here are some pics I've snapped with my Classic. The camera is decent. If you can get in good lighting there are some truly great results. Anything in artificial lighting is pretty terrible but ok for quick snaps.
Check out some good lighting shots.
Some of these are zoomed in too. Can get some good results!

I often work at nights and like to take photo's (of city street life when walking home) when the lighting conditions aren't optimal. I get good results with my iphone 6 but like Mausje's photo shows its more pixelated/blurry/unclear than I am willing to settle with...I do't want to have to take a step back (at this moment....) It's just that I absolutely HATE to use/carry 2 phones and Im not willing to do so, but I just WANT to come back to BB BADLY.
I still use my Boldie 9900 every single day to take lengthy notes in docs2go and for many apps os 10/Apple doesn't have. But every time I want to pull the trigger I read something on CB again (e.g. double typing) that causes me to put my money back in my wallet. Aside from the fact that I rather want the blue version or a BB that has a duo OS like they are supposedly planning now. Grrrrrrrrrr.....
P.S. Cool dog!06-25-15 05:22 PMLike 0 - Ooo I see some posts got deleted. I hadn't checked the thread for like 6 hours plus...

Via Passport via CB1006-26-15 05:17 AMLike 0 - Honestly, Instagram itself is one of those apps that I find works pretty well as an Android App on BlackBerry 10. If you have Snap, it's easy to get. I have iGrann (which I liked) but honestly haven't used it since getting the real deal.06-26-15 06:11 AMLike 0

- If you own a Classic you should force yourself to use the trackpad and keyboard shortcuts. Once you're used to it, it becomes a second nature.
Instant Classic!06-26-15 08:33 AMLike 2 - Nice story and beautiful pictures! Great you are loving your Classic!
I have iPhone 5 as my daily driver and Q10 just for emails. I'm thinking to use Q10 as daily driver for some time and see how it grows on me!06-26-15 11:08 AMLike 0 -

Well, I had an iPhone for a while. In White. What can you say? iOS simply works, and they have apps for ANYTHING you can think of. Heck, there is probably an app to track your bowel movements based on fiber consumption. And apps on iPhone are mostly very spectacular in design and function. Tidal's Music App on iPhone was freaking beautiful. I switched to WindowsPhone and now carry a new Quad Core Android as a personal phone while the BlackBerry is strictly for business.
I also liked your comparison to the Q. I almost jumped on that a year or so ago but could not live with the lack of control keys. That's just my preference.
I don't have an issue with White. I run two companies, and I am comfortable in the Board Room with Black or White. Pink or Purple? No, but White is fine. I remember years ago when "The Monocle" magazine from London was running BlackBerry ads on just about every page, all of them were White. White is just a pristine looking phone. Nothing wrong with preferring it.
I'm still on BIS and a 9900 because I use BlackBerry BRIDGE extensively to my Playbook. When that shine wears off in a year or two, I'll FINALLY jump to BB10. But by then, it may be 11 or X or whatever it becomes.Aneres11 likes this.06-26-15 06:25 PMLike 1 -
