I had the iphone 3g for two months before I went back and got the BB Bold. At the end of the day my bold does everything I need it to do.

I ordered one today. Funny enough, a friend of mine works for att and we had a good hour debate on which phone was better from daily usage to tech specs. He convinced me to try it and compare the two. I'm going in thinking I will be back to using the bold after a few days. But I will give it a fair shot.

I've read every page in this thread, and threads on other forums. How does no one mention the fact that the iPhone cannot attach files via the email interface? You gotta do the whole bassackwards thing of going to the photo album, and attaching a picture via that method.

Also, not being able to save your email attachments to your phone? (with the exception of pictures, maybe videos now that iPhone can record videos, but you can't save docs or audio.)

You gotta do some workaround that includes moving the email with the attachment to some other folder on another account, or whatever if you want to keep the attachment for viewing offline.

I had the iPhone 3g for fifteen hours total, and went back to my Blackjack II at the time. Thirteen hours of which I didn't even use the device, just waiting until AT&T opened up so I could take it back.

An interesting story today, too. I went to go buy a 16GB card for my Bold, and I came across the Apple specialist at this particular store. I had spoken to him before about the new iPhone (this wasn't that long ago, last week or so, before I upgraded to my Bold, and I was still trying to decide which device I wanted), and I told him I got a Blackberry. He asked me why. I mentioned the whole saving email attachments to your phone issue. He says "Oh, you can do that on the new 3.0 O.S. I just viewed a spreadsheet today. Watch, I'll show you..." He goes to open his spreadsheet on his precious status symbol, tries to save it to his phone, and guess what? He gets a confused look, then looks at me, and says "Wow. How did Apple let that one slip by?"

A little bit later, same store, I see a five year old boy playing a game on an iPhone. I know the thing's supposed to be easy to use, but a five year old? Alright, maybe I'm exaggerating. He was most likely six.

The Bold is my first Blackberry, and the best phone I have ever owned. If every other RIM device from here an end is this good, I think I'm gonna be a Blackberry user for a long, long time.

For me it was the lack of Stereo bluetooth. The 1st generation iPhone was revolutionary,Since then it's just been evolutionary. It took them 3 years to include BASIC functions. Another thing I'm disappointed about is the crappy camera a 3Megapixel camera is a shame,Especially after 3 years to get it right.
They continued with the same design.
Lets not forget the scandalous or might I say deceptive pricing by At&t I like how they say $199-$299 but really it's costing you much much more.

The browser and certain apps from the app store make me miss my old 3G, but I got a iPod Touch now so it makes up for it when I'm in wifi. I have been considering the 3GS, but I am happy with the Bold for now.

Played with my fafs 3G, and at first I wanted the "S", yet now I see how much I'd hate a full touvh screen device. I love the idea of a full web page and better browsing experience but I'm not giving up a nice keyboard for that!

Not tempted at all. I hate all things touch screen. I also don't see the point of a "smartphone" that's not smart enough to check my email without having to pay another $100 a year. No MMS, do they have cut and paste yet? No multitasking? And they want you to pay for it (my bold was free). Sad thing is-I'm a mac user and will be until they don't make them anymore, but the iPhone? Does not work with my life. I laugh at people with iPhones. Meh. As much as I go back and forth with the love/hate of my Bold, an iPhone? never in life.

I'm a BlackBerry girl all the all the way. The iPhone looks like a cool toy for a guy to play with while he's on the commode but when it comes to business and everyday things it would have to be a BlackBerry. I have a iPod but after Apple released the iShuffle and made another instance of squeezing iPod accessory manufacturers for license fees to freaking headphones. The new iPod shuffle can only be controlled by headphones with a special hardware authentication chip. That means that third parties will have to pay Apple for the privilege of making shuffle-compatible accessories, and I'm willing to bet they'll just pass that cost right onto us consumers. It will only be a matter of time until they pull that crap with their phone. I'll buy a Sandisk mp3 player or better yet my BlackBerry.

As much as I decided to get a Bold instead of a 3G, I have to admit that iPhone is far superior in terms of user-friendly interface and stability for final users point of view. Of course, having a keyboard is one thing and some features unique to BB is very appreciable. That made me to choose BB instead of iPhone.

That been said, I think iPhone 3GS compared to 3GS is not a sufficient leap foward to make me change carriers so I'll see next year when a new iPhone comes out.

nope not at all sold my iphone 3g to my friend so i could get a bold and I will never look back.

I was telling my friend at a bday party why I switched to blackberry and I told him multi-tasking, he was like the iphone can do that, i laughed told him that you can't have AIM running, shazam and answer a phone call then go back to aim still logged in. He was like no I take the phone call and go back into aim but he doesn't get that your not signed in and i think you lose your convos.

I'm going to be adding the 3GS to my Bold as a Multimedia marketing tool because of the screen size and the speed. The Bold is my main tool and with all the money I invested in it (unlocked, new built, apps etc) I intend to keep it.
As an IT professional, I like to have a "on the go" screen, so I'll get this 32GB toy AFTER the first wave....

The iPhone is a nice toy, and without question is better for multimedia, but once you go Blackberry with BES, you never go back. I forgot one of my old 8830's in the car once in plain sight and someone broke in and stole it, and about 30 seconds later I turned it into a BrickBerry. I don't care about the phone half as much as protecting the data, and nothing comes close to the security of a BBy on a BES. EAS, even on Exchange 2007 is nice, BES is 1,000x better. I got a Storm when they came out and have not looked back since. Only thing I am switching to is a Storm 2 when they finally come out.
