I recently picked up a cheap Bold 9900 (as much as I love my Z10 I guess I missed the physical keyboard and wanted to change it up occasionally), but I'm having problems running Yahoo Messenger. I only ever had one legacy device, the 9800, and I never had any issues, so apologies if this is basic stuff.

I got a giffgaff pay as you go sim (UK), paid for the BlackBerry add on, and the browser and BBM are working just fine. However, when I try to use Yahoo messenger, I get a message saying "this application requires a device enabled with BlackBerry Data Services with instant messaging capability". Some googling seems to suggest that I might be missing some service books, but that's something I don't know much about, and I thought it best to enquire here first before messing around.

All help appreciated, thanks in advance.

Been trying to work this out in a series of messages back and forth with Giffgaff, so far no joy. I tried reinstalling Yahoo Messenger through the desktop software, and the message I get when I try to sign into Yahoo has changed to "Service not enabled for this handheld." A glance at the service books on the device show that I am missing the BBIM one, if I've read right, I'm assuming I'll need that to use a third party instant messenger? How do I go about getting it?
