- Depending on how beast the ip5/9930, I think I can hold out until like oct. Or nov. Til I get my discounted upgrade on sprint. This 9650 isn't to bad, just a little random restart here and there lol but overall its still good

- Not getting the new Bold because:
1) App Memory issue not addressed with OS7
2) 1250mah battery is not going to be sufficient for my needs
3) No LTE
I will wait for a QNX Superphone version of the Bold Touch hopefully this time next year.
The 9650 is a decent device, though I can see why some would upgrade. The 9930 has been a long time coming. It just is not a huge enough leap from a 9650 IMO.
Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com07-18-11 11:16 AMLike 0 - I'm eligible to upgrade next month and have been drooling over the Torch 9850 for the last week or so.
However, after installing .600 I'm starting to second guess my origional plan. I might just keep both my 9650 and my money in my pocket for a while.
*my plans are not subject to reason or logic and ARE subject to change without notice

There is nothing wrong with my 9650 but if the first few weeks it gets insane reviews I might have to jump on it. All depends on the battery for me honestly. I have found a way to jam my 2600 battery in my defender case and I don't mess with this combo. Lol

...I'm done being able to open business related .pdf's on my F'ing ipod that my Berry can't open!
...RIM has soiled it's own bed very badly with allowing stuff like this to happen.
Which is why I'm about the only one at my Company still using a RIM device...
..I've been using the Berry's long enough to get familar with the things I use all the time and frankly liked using RIMS.
When everyone gets emailed the same BUSINESS DOCUMENT in an attachment and you are the ONLY one who can't open the thing because you are the ONLY one on a Blackberry it's time to call a spade a spade.
IF on the other hand RIM has laundered it's bedding and this pdf actually opens I will lean toward getting the 9930....
...If it doesn't - Well, I will be posting that in the 9930 / 9900 forum and I will not be nice.07-30-11 12:30 PMLike 0 -
- Well, first off, I only just got the 9650, so no free/cheap upgrades for me for a while.
Secondly, I came back to the Bold after a year away doing battle with a touch screen Droid, and couldn't wait to be rid of that piece of crap.
Upshot is, I will avoid a touch screen phone like the plague. I have the BB Playbook to fool with as far as that interface goes, but I can live without that if the screen goes screwy. I cannot get by without a reliable phone, as I spend better than half my life away from home, and it is not always convenient to break out the laptop to scan emails.
I'm really happy with a good working combination right now, so will stick with it for the forseeable future.07-31-11 03:58 AMLike 0 -

To answer the original post, no I will not be upgrading. I won't suffer a touch screen device, which will be the only benefit to the 9930. Yeah, yeah I know all about the new hardware and all that jazz, but you know ? The 9650 was supposed to change the world too. If it IS all its cracked up to be I will likely get it or the latest when my next upgrade arrives.
Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com07-31-11 06:54 AMLike 0 - I am off contract now and can upgrade anytime on VZW but there is nothing to go to from the 9650. The 9900 is not that much of an upgrade. I may wait for the I5 when it is released. Never had any Apple products in my life. I guess I can always take it back in the 30 days or 15 or whatever it is now.The problem with all the new full featured smart phones is the battery technology is not keeping pace. The more going on and the faster it works the more battery that is needed. Nobody is thinking battery YET.08-04-11 04:40 AMLike 0
