Is having the 9900 Bold thinner that much of an advantage? It seems to me we would be happier with a thicker Bold. This way we could have a bigger battery and Auto focus.
I am just curious as to why RIM wanted to slim down the Bold.

They did it for aesthetic reasons. It is more appealing and stylish. Function is very important but so is form.
I like the thinner look of it. I can slap a nice case on it and not worry about the bulk. With the 9000 it was crazy thick, a case was not really feasible. If pictures are a must, then carry a Rebel T3i in your back pocket.
Make it thin! That way, putting an Otterbox Commuter on it makes it the perfect size.
Why is it so narrow? They could have made it superwide like a pc keyboard and included function keys, a separate number pad, fingerprint reader and a hook to hang your keys on.
