Try a battery pull. If that doesn't work, then it looks like your bold needs a repair or replacement.
Have you tried a battery pull?
yeah i done that...next step is to re-install the software
Ouch. Good luck!
looks like you need a replacement..
wheres you're unit made?
NO! Return it and have it replaced.
Return that thing right away

If this is brand new/less than 30 days, there's no need to DIY fix when you can Return/Exchange it.
if its new just return it like others said. don't mess with an OS update.
your screen would make a nice wallpaper though
That's not software. That's hardware related! Bring that back asap!!!!

Messed up connection between the screen and circuit board, to be exact. Defective unit.
In another word it's: Toast!
My Treo did a similiar thing. Palm had to swap it out in the end.
thank you for attempting to be technical with us, would you happen to know what connection that is? would it be the lvds cable?
hey, nice wallpaper! where can i get that? matches my pyjamas.
Its most def hardware related. You need a new screen. Is it a canadian build? I've seen a lot of canadian bolds do this.

I would imagine that the screen's data bus, or the screen's microprocessor are damaged. You can reproduce similar results on almost any screen if you do this sort of damage. I get this on my monitor on cold mornings (I need a new monitor BADLY, 15% of the pixels are gone...)
Definately exchane your bold for a new one

I sure hope that's not the upgraded keyboard.
I think your Bold got an STD.
LOL you're a jinx, that exact thing happened to me a couple hours ago. Luckily I reboot made it go back to normal.
Good luck
