Why is the Bold the best? What makes it RIM's "flagship" device?

I say its the best. Just bought an 8900 two days ago and the bold still outperforms the 8900

Blackberries are like Mercedes and the bold happens to be the S class.

Why shouldn't it be the best? What is the best in your eyes?

Take a look at it specs/features and compare it to previous RIM models. You'll see the difference. Granted, you can't compare it to the Storm as it falls under a different category (Touchscreen vs QWERTY) not to mention its RIM first such device.

Blacklighter11, in what ways does the bold out perform the 8900? I know it has more memory, but that kinda doesn't make a difference if u get a mem card. Does the better processor make a huge difference?

Yes, the processor speed makes a huge difference when you are running multiple applications. It allows you to open apps faster and run more at the same time.

The 8900 actually has more memory for applications as the 1 gig internal for the bold cannot hold applications. The thing the bold has over the 8900 is 3g, the processor, and keyboard. The 8900 has a better camera, more app memory, smaller size, etc

Has any of the bold fans above used both the 8900 and Bold? I don't see how anyone who has can say that the bold is still better. The only positive the bold has is the keyboard. 3G comes with bad battery life, wifi is the way to go, especially if you have wifi available where you work and live.

I have both the 8900 and the Bold and I get better 3G service (5 bars) than edge (1-2 bars) where I am. I also like the look and feel of the bold better. Its all subjective
My battery life easily lasts me 2 days but I just charge it everynight anyway.

I'm on tmobile and my latest bb is the 8900. I just think the bold is really cool looking. I think the 8900 is too small. I just need UMA cuz I have no coverage where I live. So I can't wait for the driftwood

The 8900 is slower than my bold. Both devices are running on the latest os. I see the hour glass more on the 8900. Openning apps like Facebook takes a few seconds longer.

My main gripe is the built quility. The case is very plasticky and wobbles like crazy. I am not saying 8900 is not a good phone. It is a good phone. Heck, I am using it and still enjoying it with the bold.
