I loved it until I got my Storm 2, and I haven't really touched it since, except to update the OS. I will probably get the Slider too.

I also tried the 9700 and sent it back. While the added memory, newer OS and trackpad were appealing, I just couldn't get past the smaller looking screen and the way the fonts appeared smaller. My eyesight is good, but once you are used to a display like the 9000 has it's hard to downsize. I'm sure if someone with a Storm or iPhone tried to switch to the 9700 they would have the same complaint.

Yes, I still love my Bold 9000, but I'm looking forward to the ultimate Bold - the 9010 (my title):
9000 form factor, 512 MB device memory, trackpad, OS 6, and microSD card up to 32GB. RIM are you listening?

honestly I love my Bold. I have never had a phone for this long and still love it.
Im soo tempted to join the bandwagon and get an EVO, but Im having a hard time giving up what fits me fine already. I want toys I think but this thing is ooooohhhhh soo comfortable for me to type on and works awesome on the .681. I never had bugs with mine other then .594 to be honest, but it just runs like a clock.

The trackball annoys me sometimes when it locks and cant scroll a certain direction, but I usually push down hard and then scroll it a few ways to get whatever is jamming it up loose.

Ugggggg I kinda want something new, but know I will miss this thing greatly.

I'll admit, I'm getting a little tired of my Bold... =/ I'm a hesitant to sell it because I've spent so much money on it already. Accessories and such. I've spent more money on accessories like the housing, balls, skins, and all that more than the phone it self! Now if someone were to buy everything from me for maybe... $300-$350...I'd probably sell it...but I doubt anyone would buy this now since there are newer Bolds out there! So... I'm sticking with this phone until I discover a new phone that I'll like. I'm kind of waiting for the Slider...I kind of don't like how its not a landscape slider though...but we'll see. I'm not eligible for an upgrade until November, so I've got time! But...this phone isss the best phone I've ever owned.

Honestly, the whole phone is amazing. I love the dimensions and the keyboard, and the screen size, and the leather backing. The whole thing.

Except for the app memory. That pisses me off.
The app. memory pisses me off too, guess RIM should re-do the 9000 and throw in some more memory and a 3.2 mp cam. Regardless it a Beast!!!

    Gotta love the 9000.
Currently I'm rocking a 9700, but i just don't have the heart to give up my beautiful bold. I may re-marry and divorce many charming new phones, but the 9000 will forever be my mistress, hidden away for my eyes only.
Definitely the best phone I've ever owned.

I've had the 9000 about 3 months now and while its my first BB I thought it was the best choice at the time and still do. I could have gotten the 9700 but I didn't like the smaller keyboard and screen (like everyone else!) And I know I made the right choice.
More memory would be nice but I run very few apps so its not a big deal.
I'm hoping in 2yrs when its time to upgrade their is something out there comparable but that's far off.

I love my Bold 9000. This is by far the longest I have kept a phone. Been able to upgrade for quite a while but just can't give this little beauty up. I like the size. Don't care much for even the 9700 size. Considering switching to the 9800 when it comes out. Will just haveto see. But for now 9000 is tops in my book.

Just upgraded from the 8820 to the Bold 9000 as of last week. Perfect size in all aspects, especially keyboard. Have the iPhone as well (8gb-3G) but still prefer the Bold 9000. About the same size as my old 8820 which I kept when I received the Javelin 8900 for signing on a new plan at Rogers about a year ago. Javelin too small for me, but the 9000 just right. Someone on EBay just bought my old 8820, and hope they are as happy with it as I was.
Heard about the new slider, and can't wait to see what it feels like.

I'm starting to get annoyed at having to clean the trackball a couple of times a week and the lack of memory.
While the Bold has been good to me, love is too strong a word (philosophical reasons notwithstanding). In addition to the above issues about cleaning the trackball and the lack of memory, the camera is just poor in comparison to other smartphones, the browsing experience is irritating and slow, the media player seems buggy, the phone seems to have been abandoned from a software upgrade standpoint, and AT&T from time to time auditions to be the bane of my existence. Battery life is also suspect sometimes -- totally not providing more than 5 hours of power while surfing, talking, messaging, etc. (This is in light of the fact that I do the best I can to shut down apps when not using them, running memory cleaner, and dumping logs and caches.)

It is time for a new phone: I will consider Android based phones, the new BB with OS 6, and the iPhone 4.

Thinking of the slider; however the data plans now are limited with AT&T and I would be worrying about going over and getting a large bill. Hoping they'll offer an unlimited data plan with it, but doubt it.

ive had a 9000 for about a year now, i cant say im impressed. it does the job, but in a year ive had to switch the phone out 7 times because all of them would do something weird within the first week o having the phone. the first one, the keyboard stopped working, the second, the screen pixelated or something, and so on. The one i have now still doesnt work properly, but whatever.

    To all BB9000 lovers,

I sense a common thread here in regard to the limitations of the 9000 - which are many compared to what is on the market now. However despite the limitations the one common feature that we all seem to agree on is it's form factor - physical size, screen size, keyboard size.

RIM is set to release OS 6 later this year which should clear up any browsing and battery life issues. Trackpad technology will surely be bult into all future BB devices as well.

Personally, I would like to see the next device be a 9000 like unit with all the updated features found in newer devices (see my signature). Perhaps if we all emailed our carriers as well as RIM they might consider something like this?

    Well, one can hope.....

I would not say love. I am content for now. My next phone wil either be the 9800 or the iPhone 4. I am tired of memory leaks and rebooting. RIM needs to overhaul the OS and give us 16-32 GB of shared memory for apps and files. I don't want to worry about running out of space.

My trackball has been giving me problems so I saw one of my friends who works for verizon customer service and he hooked me up with a brand new trackball. So I'll be replacing it as soon as I get a chance.
