I've searched on here for an answer, excuse me if I missed it... I had the phone laying on the table, and when I picked it up to look at it, there was a small black line across the screen. I tried plugging it up and updating it and reloading os. It won't allow me to do so though. It's been a few days and now the line is even bigger. You can even see it when the screen is off. I don't understand what the problem is but any help would be appreciated.

Looks like that's a hair-line crack in the LCD itself. You'll have to take it in for a warranty repair and end up paying $133 if you don't have insurance. I know it sucks, but your warranty is allot better than none at all.

Since you have no insurance, fix it yourself. But first you have to disassemble it and find the # on the back of the lcd. Parts available from USA here:
    Wireless Parts Inc. - 9700 Bold2
Blackberry Bold 9700 Parts & Accessories

Or search eBay - found this if you have the 004/111:
BlackBerry Bold 9700 Onyx LCD Screen 004/111 FROM USA - eBay (item 190442088098 end time Dec-07-10 21:01:39 PST)

Or tons of Chinese suppliers, but it takes 10 days to 2 weeks to arrive.

Google "how to disassemble a blackberry 9700" and just watch the videos.

    Good luck.
