It's not the keyboard, it's the keyboard membrane. You probably have minor moisture damage. Taking it apart, and cleaning all the contacts with alcohol would probably resolve that for you.
okay....can the bottom smiley(where carrier logo is) be re attached once it is pried off, or do you need a new one?

Yes, the bottom piece should stick back on.
Make sure and use either 90% isopropyl or denatured alcohol.
I have same problem, but it's not so severe. Esc key must be pressed a little bit harder, also in last few days BB key also started requiring stronger press (and sometimes it does double press), and few keys here and there "stutter". So I'm also thinking about clearing keyboard, I've seen many videos of phone dissasembly, but I haven't seen one with removing keyboard membrane, so I'm not quite sure how to do it.
And today when I tried to open "smiley" (plastic with logo of carrier) it made sound like unglue-ing, so I assumed that it has some glue on it and I'm not sure will that glue "catch" again after I remove it, so I gave up.
Also, how do I dissassemble keyboard membrane from actual keyboard without breaking anything?
The membrane peels off the board. Looks like this (board side facing up):

Be careful you peel it up gently, so you don't lose any of the spring contact cups, and handle it as little as possible. You want it to stick as well when you're done as when you started.
Bottom piece isn't glued, there's a strip of sticky tape.
Just replace the whole key board like I did. For $35.00 give or take includes the tools you get a complete key board with track pad and 10 minutes of your time.

Yes, that would be nice, but they don't ship to my country, and even from websites that ship to my country, on top of part price I would must pay another 50$ for delivery. It's too expencive.
Hmmm. Where do you live? Can you order off of Amazon or ebay maybe?
I live in Serbia, so every shipment that comes from US costs me 50USD just shipping... But I wasn't lazy and I found local mobile store who repair blackberry (it's rare in my country) and even if you find one, prices are astronomical. This one is cheap. I explained my problem to guy from that store, he is 99% sure that simple cleaning will do the trick, and it will cost 5-10USD.
The keyboard isn't the issue, I can guarantee that.
Thats a great price, for what should be an hour of work
Its the keyboard or part of the keyboard that is messing up.
