SO Whatsapp have just enabled another upgrade for the BBOS7+ devices...

    This is version 2.17.1 @ 9.1MB

I'm aware of the blog post about extending support for BBOS10 devices till December 2017, but what's this update?

I'm still planning on getting rid of my account come 30/06 since the killing of the app was a suitable excuse, but is this another temporary reprieve, or them just hammering in the last nail to make sure it actually dies off on June 30?

It's been pushed to December for BBOS devices too, not just BB10.

That said, the update is probably there to make sure the built-in expiration date for the app is pushed back.

The update for me shows 'in-app' when you go to the settings cog. Otherwise you used to be able to download it from the whatsapp website OTA (but I've not checked there in a long time)

I may leave it to tick over then & see if the old version dies or just keep on working.

2 days ago i've bought a Blackberry bold 9900, but when resetting WhatsApp is gone from the phone. And now when I download it from AppWorld or OTA websie it shows my phone is too old. I don't know what to do..

Maybe the update is just available for people who had whatsapp on their phone and not for people who download it new.

Hope you know something i can do....

    Read this thread /blackberry-10-apps-f274/bb10-users-native-whatsapp-app-beware-if-you-switch-between-multiple-devices-1112738/
It's for BB10, but might also work for OS7

For proper operation, you need to uninstall/delete Whatsapp and then reinstall it with BBWord.

Is it still possible to get a new installation? I've tried downloading both from bbworld v 17.2 and WhatsApp v 17.1 but just get a message that device is no longer supported.

EDIT: problem solved, download then before installing change the date back a few years and turn off cell data and wifi, install, turn data back on get SMS from WhatsApp then after it install restore to current date
