.282 Asian for me. Stable, good battery life, and the ability to switch to 2G!

had the 4.6.0.92 .... that was really stable... then whent to 5.0.0.100 ... super stuff.... the graphics were smoother... battery was better... switched to .282 but went back with 5.0 as there is just no comparison...

the 5.0.0.100 is probably the best one out there.

I had a .282 before. Battery life was.. very poor, I can only get one day worth of use and I don't even browse often on bold. Just Facebook, MSN and Viigo.

But reception was excellent, had no dropped calls, sounds on the phone was excellent too.

Although my bold did reboot itself once.

Though, the battery life has made me swapping to .266 recently. Seems like battery life's somewhat better now.

But will have to wait till I use .266 OS for longer time before I know it's really better or not.

Well, I've only tried two Operating Systems. The stock one for AT&T Bold (.162 I think) and .282

Out of those two, I prefer .282 hands down. I noticed improvement in available RAM as well as less lagging/hour glass.

I've been using 266 for the past month or so. I had 247. All in all, I liked 247 better. It seems like my cell reception isn't as good as before and my battery life definitely isn't as good as before. I am curious about 282. I read its thread though and it seemed like a lot of people were having trouble with it

I'd say any 5.0 build... It's a minor upgrade, but it's so much slicker in every way.

Just installed the .282, it's loading up for the first time!

Edit: I went with the East Asian one and not the Rogers (I'm on AT&T in USA). Does it make a difference? Will Rogers work better than East Asian or vice versa?

I had better results with vodaphone honestly. I live in the us and had ok reception with the asian but have found vodaphone .282 to hold 3g signal better and also had better sound.

I have 9000/4.6.0.266 now but after reading all this I am debating going 282. I AM having issues with dropped calls. Is that improvement OS related or better because you are forcing edge?

im running the .291 from Tmobile UK, and its working great I had the.247 I have better battery life(in similar circumstances about 2 more hours), better memory (+4megs), faster access to media on the sd card, never had problems with dropped calls (i guess thats why they didn't update the the platform), and all around is stable haven't had any freezes or resets...

There is, but it is not a newer OS -- it's just a hybrid with a much lower platform number.

It would thus be a downgrade for most people. http://forums.crackberry.com/f83/4-6...ml#post3186257
