I have just bought a 9700 from a well known seller. The phone was discribe as sim free and being that my current provider is o2, I thought a sim free would be ideal as open to all network.

Today I have just recieved my bold with much anticipation, only for it to be a T-Mobile handset.

What would you do, as I do not like T-Mobile due to past experience.

SIM free just means that the phone is unlocked to all networks, and not necessarily unbranded.

Did the seller state that the phone was unbranded?
Have you tried your O2 sim in it? Did it work?

The external and splash screen T-Mobile branding means nothing, it's still the same phone and will work fine with your O2 sim...
but if you don't like it, then contact the seller and ask for a refund.

Just because its TMO branded doesnt mean its not unlocked. If its unlocked to any carrier I would put a cover (Seidio, Otter, Incipio) on it to cover the brand and use it.
