Ive always loved using blackberries, that is until OS6.
For some reason, no matter how many times I try installing it, it always seems to just be slow.

What OS (and version) have you found works best for you?

Is OS7 available for the Bold?

I stayed with OS 5.0.0.975. It works well. I never found any compelling reason to go to 6.0.

Been nothing but probs for me. The search function I think is the only differentiating factor.

The newest version that Verizon released fixed most of the bugs I had, and it works great for me!
Latest Official OS: 9650 6.0.0.524 from Verizon

Thanks. Will give that a try before going back to os5.
I always have a problem finding the software on VZ's site.
Do you know where I can find it?

Go to the thread I linked you to, go to the download page, choose personal, then Bold 9650 and download.

I also stayed with OS5. Running 5.0.0.699 with no problems. No desire to try OS6.

AllTel's 6.0.0.436. Start running BB6 when it first leaked and never looked back!

OS 6.0.0.524 currently. Been running OS6 from the first leaks as well and NEVER went back to outdated OS5.

It's all a matter of personal preference. Make up your own mind. It's the only way to be happy with what you've got.

Verizon OS5 for me as well. Tried several flavors of 6 and I always tend to go back to 5. Speed, stability, no call issues with 5.

I've heard a lot of people are finding 6.0.0.522 is a very stable OS. Even better than 6.0.0.524.

Have you tried the OSBB V2? It is a group effort which King is part of building and is a very good hybrid OS.

Midd, itching to try a new OS. Is an official 6.0.0.600 coming out or should I opt for this one you mentioned above?

I'm not sure when the official .600 will be release to the public. So, depending on how bad you have the itch, I would say go for it.

lots on info on downgrading from 6 to 5. The process is basically the same for many models. Do a quick search and you will find a lot of info. Here is a detailed thread.

I have heard you need to check the hidden files for vender.xmls that don't show up in the normal place. They seem to be located in the Loader XML folder, one called Device.xml and one called Vender.xml. To find hidden files you need to use the Windows Companion search function and not the normal windows search.

Yeah, I'm running the official 524 from vzw but it seems to be degrading on my device every day. I experience freezing issues every so often that weren't there in the beginning.
