i had two phones both Nokias a 6300 and a E61. I love my Bold and dont know how i coped without it. (actually i used to take my laptop into work and steal wireless from a nearby house, but i wont have to do that to check personal email again!)
My last phone was a Blackberry 7280. I was going to get an 8800 awhile back but when I heard RIM was coming out with a new phone this summer, I held off. I'm glad I did! I finally got my Bold yesterday, what an upgrade from the 7280!
BB Bold < HTC Touch Diamond (1 week only - sent back as battery life was shocking!) < Orange SPV M700 < Orange SPV M600 < SPV C550. So, converted from WM devices to BB and so far no regrets.
My last phone was a Sony Ericsson W810i.
I'm looking at doing the same. I love the pearl for it's size but want a device that's got it all! How has the switch been for size and from suretype to qwerty?
Curve and 8800. The hype doesn't explain it all... the Bold is AMAZING!
Nokia N95-3

I had a Pearl. I was afraid of the move to a larger device, but I'm very happy with the Bold. Truly a flagship blackberry!
Nokia N95-3 and iPhone 3G.

I have an iPhone 3G right now and before that, a Curve. I'm going to get a Bold eventually. I just want to wait until I see what the issues are on the AT&T network when it comes out. I'm thinking I'll probably pick one up sometime between Thanksgiving and Christmas, who knows.
Could be later, or I could get trigger happy when I see it. :D haha You never know.
Had a Treo 680. The Blackberry Bold is better designed, faster, MUCH better at e-mail and (believe it or not) much more stable. The only advantages of the Treo are that there is more software available and the PIM functions are better.
I had the 7290 since it came out 5 years ago. Had it fixed twice.
In the summer I decided that windows mobile HTC TyTnII was the device of the century. Tried for 2 weeks and cried. Windows Mobile is such a pain to use. I had to go back to my Palm days of using a stylus again. The device was fast and did as advertised but I absolutely hated it's cumbersome interface. I couldn't stand it anymore, so I sold it.
I went back to my 7290 till it died. Then suffered with a Nokia 9555 until the Bold came out.
Thank you RIM. Absolutely nothing beats the joy of using a blackberry! And the Bold - dispite its hiccups - is terrific.
