We've spent months talking about when the Bold will finally get here but lets start talking now if anyone is going to buy it for full retail. I have four lines on my ATT account and none are due for an upgrade until next April. That said, I was willing to pay $499 for the Bold full retail, but if ATT follows Rogers and prices it at $650+ full retail I am going to seriously have to consider if I'm going to pay ATT almost $700 (after tax) for a Bold. Anyone else now dealing with this dilemma as we get close to the ATT release???

I think it sucks that new phones come out quicker than we are eligible to get an upgrade discount. As for buying the Bold at full retail, I don't know it depends on what the full retail price ends up being. I think the 2 year contract price will be $299 so the retail price will probably be like $499 maybe more, and at that price I will just stick with my curve and hang around for the javelin once it comes to AT&T

We know that at&t will price it somewhere around 200-299 with a 2 year contract. We're talking about full retail (no contract) pricing. Which is a somewhat grayer area.

I believe it will be cheaper on AT&T. With that said, I can live without 3G and the Javelin is a better device. Paying $600+ for this device is CRAZY!!

Reports say October. That is fine with me. Even if I did NOT already have a Bold, I would still not buy one and wait for the Javelin. I'm not impatient and can wait. I wouldn't get it to just get a new device. I would wait and get the one I like best.

I thought i was going to have to pay full retail as I used my upgrade 3 months ago to replace my wife's broken phone. Low and behold, i check again this week and my upgrade has been replenished! Sometimes AT&T makes me smile!

I'm not so sure. ATT has 30 days to see the reaction to Rogers pricing (if Rogers is actually released this week AND if ATT actually releases the Bold on the 15th of September). Remember, not only will ATT not release a date but they also WILL NOT release pricing. Being that the 8820 STILL retails at ATT.com for a retail non-upgrade price of $427.99 there is no way the Bold could possibly be less then $549 and more likely $599 at minimum.

log onto the website and go to your account. theres a link there. But a quick reference they only let you upgrade if you've been in contract for 18 months

AT&T is a lot bigger company than Rogers. And they have the ability to sell the Bold at a lower price. And I believe we will see just that. A lower price.

I sure hope your right... but ATTs history of pricing their devices doesn't support your opinion.

Dunno but I would be willing to sell you the bold alone but it would have to be near the regular pricing because i need the money to pay for the bold and then the ETF.

There are a lot of wishful thinking among a few here. When the 8800 was released, it sure wasn't selling for just $500 retail price, so regardless of how bigger ATT is than Rogers, why would the Bold be released be cheaper? I'm guessing it would be retail for around $600 and you certainly won't be able to get anything cheaper on Ebay since demand for it is so high.
